You only get to choose one option, so choose wisely.

If we knew all the factors in the probability, maybe, but we don't.

Well, we know enough of the factors to make a good and educated guess.

Well, what are the basics of life...carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, pretty basic stuff that is abundant in the universe.

here is something to think about.... iron and all the heavier elements all the way down to uranium are produced in the core of massive stars that explode once they reach the end of their lives and can no longer maintain their gravity and cohesion. The super massive gravity well at the core and the high pressure and heat start to create the heavier elements until a critical mass is achieved and BOOM! Our blood is iron based, specifically the hemoglobin in the red blood cells which is a nice match for oxygen. The iron in our blood and that of all iron based blood animals on this planet all orignated in the core of a dying super massive star billions of years ago.

Yes, I was already aware of all of this.

It is one of the few things that gives me pause and reflect. It is...dare I say...a spiritual moment. I am sure it is not unlike what a christian experiences in their church, or a muslim with their explosive vests. The only other thing that makes me feel that way is when I stop my ascent during scuba diving for a 5-10 minute decompression stop at 7m of water. Basically im just being cautious and blowing off nitrogen for a few minutes. But all I can do is hover there in the water column, and I can hear the shrimp, the parrot fish, sometimes even whale song.......mmmm
