This doesn't have a topic yet why?
Dispite George's best effort to rape this beloved franchise dry i never get sick of watching Empire Strikes Back (It's far better then Return IMO).

I often wonder how "Return" would rank if Harrison Ford got his way and Han Solo died at the end.

And I wonder how Return would have ranked if Spielberg had directed it, like he should have.

For the re-release, all of the guns the Stormtroopers had will be replaced by walkie talkies.

I was irritated when I bought the Star Wars trilogy on DVD and in Return they replaced Anakin's ghost with Hayden fucking Christensen. That's not fair just because he turned evil and shit that he gets an eternally young ghost while Obi-Wan Kenobi is forever Alec Guinness.

I thought a LOT of the DVD changes were retarded. Empire's my favorite as well and for them to add the conversation between Vader and the Emperor explaining Luke being his son. . .unforgivable. Although we all know the facts, in this movie it was supposed to be a "cliffhanger" of sorts.

"How I originally intended it to be". . .bah fuck-bug.

Also in changing Boba Fett's voice and the spirit as you've mentioned. . .all changes that piss me off. Goddamn Lucas. . .not even offering the "real" versions anymore.

Yes, Boba Fett is now voiced by Temuerra Morrison (Jango Fett)

I guess since he's a clone n' all. . .Phukkers.

Goddamnit, I try not to think of that shit when I watch the original Star Wars. In my mind Boba Fett is still a caucasian. I'm not racist, it's just how I've always pictured him in my head.

Okay, I'm a racist too.

Replacement VCR's? That is plural as in you have stashed more than one VCR?....Because in teh appocolypse you will be able to watch poor quality movies, yeah for you!

My DVD versions only have the edited recreated crap. The whole set was poorly put together. Only a single sheet of artwork inside with the chapter names for each DVD.

I wasn't aware they're released those. Lucas swore never to make the originals available again as they're not as he'd intended. Course the bastard is full of lies.

On Blu-Ray. The prequels edited because they weren't as Lucas originally intended. The technology just wasn't there.

I'm actually surprised to be seeing Clone Wars coming out on Blu-Ray before the actual movies. I understand it's a piece of crap filler (read: long pilot episode) but still. . .

I am in the same boat Skybase. I had to have a look and sure enough they are available although I am not going to purchase the set again since I already have 4 copies of 4-6 already.

Skybase

I'm right near there. And honestly haven't been totally happy with ANY of the collections. I'd just expect so many more special features as well. Guess that's just cuz Lucas treats them as such epic creations himself.

Blu-Ray releases (when they finally come) had BETTER take full advantage of the technology. I expect to see a shitload of special features, and new updates frequently. This would be my final purchase of the movies, as much as I hate to go buy them yet again in the first place.

Oh that's right. .I'd forgotten.

I also forget that Lucas used to be a decent person.

Ziro was originally going to speak Huttese (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Huttese). George Lucas (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/George_Lucas) stepped in and specifically asked for Ziro to sound like Truman Capote (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Truman_Capote).

There's some pretty cool fan DVD shit out there if you're a total SW nerd (like me). There's actually some super-dedicated nerds working on cleaning and enhancing the original versions frame-by-frame to create something much better than the non-anamorphic laser disk transfers that Lucas tried to pass of to people as the unedited versions. Other people have created edits using both the new versions and old versions edited together or laid on top of each other. There's also edits of the new trilogy that are much better than the ones Lucas made (albeit it's like spraying polyeurathane on turds). There's even an edit of Ep 3 where they super-imposed Qui-Gon's ghost into the end and pieced together soundbites from Liam Neeson, among other things. It actually looks somewhat professional.

I may have to look into this sort of thing again. I loved some of the old Fan movies I'd seen. so fan edits would probably be quite interesting as well.
