Are you serious? The 1960 version is a sci-fi classic. Right up there with The Day the Earth Stood Still, Forbidden Planet, & Journey to the Center of the Earth.

I've read the book, seen the film that won an academy award for best special effects and watched about 5 minutes of the Guy Pierce version of the film before turning it off. It's not the Time Machine per say that failed, but this thread.
