So apparently they've made a straight to video remake of Day of the Dead. I cannot bring myself to even rent it. There is no way it approaches the awesomeness of the original.

Lots of people loved the Dawn of the Dead remake, but meh. For one thing, how can they even call it a remake? There's zombies and there's a mall. The similarities stop there.

i'll play your zombie game, again. but i move to strike diary of the dead from this poll as it was an epic fail on romero's part.

It speaks volumes.

Also, the original is the bestest.

Night of the Living Dead is the tops. None of the others are as good. They're okay, but they are nowhere near as good as the first one. The experience of watching "Night" for the first time was unmatched by any other subsequent zombie movie.

Other than "Dead Alive"

Dawn of the dead for three reasons:

1. Shot in the mall that I used to go to when I was a kid.
2. Great cast. Ken Foree as Peter & David Emge as Flyboy. Great cameo by the god of gore himself...Tom Savini.
3. Great plot. Satirical, yet never loses its focus on those zombies.

Day of the Dead is really getting no just due here. I think it's the best in the series for a few reasons. Dr. Frankenstein's crazy experiments, the fact that it is leaps and bounds ahead of the others in terms of gore, there's a laid back Jamaican guy, oh and MOTHERFUCKIN' BUB! The most lovable zombie ever.

It's also Romero's favorite entry in the series. Or it was, until recently he said Diary of the Dead was. But he is getting old and possibly losing a few marbles up there.

The right films are winning this poll. Although I expected more love for Day of the Dead.

Dawn of the Dead. It might be because it was the 1st horror movie I ever saw. But I don't care. I never get bored of any of romero's zombie flicks. Sure some aren't the same quality. But at least he tries. And even if he fails he still makes better films then the Sci Fi channel.

Original Night of The Living Dead, pretty good. Revolutionary, scary, all that.

Dawn, meh. Okay, overrated in my opinion.

Day of The Dead rocking one lonely vote? This is unacceptable.

I would have to go with the original Night of the Living Dead. One of the first films to have a black man as the hero.

In other zombie related movie news, The Dawn of the Dead remake is really growing on me after each viewing. It might be due to Sarah Polley starring in it. I would let her eat my brain and by brain I mean that with which I usually let do my thinking.

I remember a few years ago seeing a zombie movie that I'm pretty sure someone told me was Day of the Dead but definitely wasn't... I only saw the last 1/2 hour or so, but what I saw took place underground in some kind of bunker or lab, had 3 main protagonists, a young guy, a girl and an old guy who carried a shotgun that he never fired once because apparently he forgot to bring ammo or something... ever since I saw Day, I've been trying to figure out what movie that was

helps?

Right, Bunny. That would explain the ears. It does still resemble a zombie chicken or zombie foghorn leghorn.

It would help if you knew the exact year or an actor's name but I'll say that was Living Dead Lock Up.

nah it came out sometime prior to 2000, at the very latest... it looked to me more like a late 80's/early 90's

That sounds like Return of the Living Dead 3. From 1993, It took place on a army base with labs and centered around a guy and girl and the father of the kid. Did the chick have a bunch of piercings?
