It's getting really brutal watching Vince try to shove Cena down the throats of the fans when they're all sick of him. He's supposed to be a top face, but every time I tune in to RAW he's getting booed. The people didn't pick him to be the top guy; he didn't earn it. But the Powers That Be decided that he was going to be The Guy, no matter what the people wanted. John Cena is the George W. Bush of WWE.

I still think a lot of fans want to see Cena wrestle, and he is still a top name, but a lot of people just like to boo him or see him lose. He's a little like the Patriots where a lot of people don't like him, but they will tune in to see what he does or to see him lose.

To me Triple H fits the description of guy who gets shoved down our throats no matter what.

I think they said he got launched 300 feet off his motorcycle... which is the length of a football field. And all he injured was his collarbone?

I'm pretty sure it's all a work. Nobody would start to take up the hobby of riding motorcycles while rehabbing a collarbone injury.

On the Orton situation...I wouldn't put it past WWE to issue a worked story like this, it's not as if they don't have the ability to pull a red herring out of nowhere. Question is, is this a cover up for him having gotten into trouble or failed a drug test, or is this their way of explaining away him re-injuring himself or having some kind of setback on his rehab?

On the Foley situation...It's not as if he really needs the gig right now, seeing as how Mick has famously noted his frugality. If he's not happy with his role, he shouldn't be on the road with them, period. I think Tazz and JR will make for a good combination; Tazz is a lot like King in that he's the comic relief/color to JR's straightforward play-by-play. I really like Striker & Grisham, though, mainly because Striker is proving to be a very good color man and also because I feel like Grisham is talented and has waited in the wings a LONG time to get his shot.

On the thing with Kevin James...What the hell?

Hardcore Holly's WWE (http://www.prowrestling.com/article/news/10016#) career is reported to be over soon. The 45-year-old wrestler has not been used in months and it would take someone such as the Undertaker to support him with management to keep him around. A downside to Holly remaining with the company is that the younger wrestlers have complained that he works too stiff. He was planned to work an angle with Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes where he was looking for revenge. A promo was shot with Holly that never aired because of his bad performance. Management felt that he would work stiff with DiBiase and Rhodes to make them look bad, so the program was cancelled.

I have never been a fan of Holly. And once he beat up that kid on Tough Enough I thought he should have rot in hell. Wrestling is a job where you are supposed to protect the guy you are working with. Holly never did that.

The Sun out of the UK is reporting a close friend (http://rajah.com/base/node/13286#) of Mick Foley has informed them that the hardcore icon is headed to TNA Wrestling (http://rajah.com/base/node/13286#) when his WWE contract expires on September 1st.
Foley’s friend told the Sun, “Mick's body cannot handle a full time schedule, even in TNA. But he's hell bent on doing everything he can to further his legacy and put them on the map.
The friend added, "Mick's plan is to wrestle select dates, like Sting currently does. He feels he will legitimately make a big difference in the way TNA Wrestling is perceived by the public!”
Back in 2005, Foley was in talks wih TNA and was very close to signing with the company before he wound up back in WWE. He did not work this week's SmackDown (http://rajah.com/base/node/13286#)! tapings.

Kinda surprised about CherryShe is not the typical body type that WWE goes for. I'm not saying she's fat, but she's not Kelly Kelly skinny either. She seemed to have put on weight as things went on with the Deuce & Domino angle, but even so she was over during the Divas championship tournament and took some major shots, getting worked over by quite a few of the other women.

It's a poor decision on their part in my opinion. Hopefully TNA picks her up; they tend to value their women's division based on their workrate, not merely whether or not Vince gets a stiffy when he sees them.

Steven Richards has been so irrelevant since Right To Censor.I really thought Stevie would've eventually gotten into an office position or a road agent/producer gig. He's been around long enough to know that company as well as anyone. I guess now they could run a genuine "Last of the Extreme" angle with Tommy Dreamer; other than Jericho I can't think of anyone else on the active roster (not counting Tazz, he's an announcer now) from the "OG" ECW.

It is believed that this is the first appearance the two stars have made on WWE television as signed talents. Cabana signed a WWE developmental contract last year while Bradley has been signed to a WWE developmental contract since 2005. They have both worked with World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk.
I don't know where the hell they're coming up with these names.

He was scheduled to do an autograph signing at a Best Buy in Rockford, Illinois yesterday, but Cody Rhodes & Ted DiBiase replaced him. I've thought for a while now that wrestling looks weak these days because it's now compared to MMA. MMA wasn't around in the 70's & 80's and even the 90's for the most part. Now? It's the most brutal looking stuff that can be found on TV and wrestling comes of as being weaksauce...Mainly because televised wrestling is now more about being a soap opera than anything.

If ROH were to get some mainstream exposure, without their product turning into the same drivel that is WWE & TNA, I think they could reinvigorate pro wrestling. They have the underground element that ECW had but their matches are like a modern version of NWA-style work in that it's about athleticism and making people believe this is combat than it is creating goofball storylines.

The problem these days is that people still watch wrestling on TV, even when it's crap. The Nielsen people don't care if you LIKE what you're watching, just that you watch. If fans want a better product, they need to hit WWE and TNA in their wallets by not watching their shows or buying their merchandise. Vince hasn't had any incentive to produce quality programming since WCW went under, and that was over seven years ago. TNA could have offered some competition, but they dropped the ball by trying to mimic the crappy WWE programming rather than create something new and different (and better). MMA isn't destroying televised wrestling; televised wrestling is destroying televised wrestling.

During an interview with WrestleCast, Randy Orton ripped former WWE (http://www.prowrestling.com/article/news/10043#) star Bubba Ray Dudley. "I never liked him," Orton said of Bubba. "I never liked what he did because he only thought of himself. In the match my foot was broken, it was his fault... Bubba Dudley is the most out of shape, fat, non-work-ethic-having person I knew. And you had a bad taste in your mouth when you met him."

Not really. I remember watching an interview with him where he states he makes just as much money touring the indy circuit and making appearances in Japan as he would with a starting WWE contract.

During his UK media tour, Randy Orton made an appearance on Sky Sports News (http://www.prowrestling.com/article/news/10046#) and announced that he has been cleared to return and will be backstage at SummerSlam. The interview was conducted before the "motorcycle injury". During the interview, he mentioned that his favorite match was against Mick Foley at Backlash in 2004. Orton also commented that he would like a rematch with Hulk Hogan, as he wasn't happy about being beaten by a "walking plastic man" with a fake hip and fake knees.

But wouldn't that make 3? Or are Hardy, Regal and Chavo the only Superstars with 2 Positives. Plus WWE is on a big kick now of releasing all wrestlers names if they fail a test. I mean they had no problem revealing Jeff Hardy's name when he was in the Title hunt or Regal's after he won the KOTR.

It crapped out at the end of Khali/Hunter - I'm assuming Trips won?

It was a weak finish, if that was the finish. I would have though Helmsley would need more offense to put him away.

Yeah that would be #3. Thats why I think they are pulling the motorcycle injury. So they won't have fire him.

Also its back on.

This match doesn't totally suck. Clean Batista win.

Was an underwhelming match for what is supposed to have been '6 years in the making'.

That was a better match than I thought it would be. The hot crowd helped

You're 100% right about the crowd. This wasn't the Match of the Year, but certainly a nice warm-up to the main event: HITC.

It's amazing that this match seems so huge and all we've had as build up is Edge and Vickie

Maybe, I saw it wrong, but it looked like the ring almost gave out first. Either way there wasn't enough force or height for a ring collapse spot there.

It was a fine match otherwise though.
