Classic "counter culture" film about to friends whom after smuggling some drugs into the states for money take off on an adventure east across the United states towards New Orleans to attend Mardi Gras. This is a movie that stands the test of time and now with the world even smaller, it make movies like this even more appreciated.

I wasn't really a fan of Easy Rider...

I hated this movie. It was like a bunch of short films with motorcycle-riding music videos in between.
The only redeeming thing in this movie is that they got shot in the end. That said at least every character was bat shit crazy.
the only redeeming thing about you is... ummm... I can't think of a way to end that sentence

I heard so many good things about this movie. I finally rented it one day and it was definitely a let down...The whole acid trip scene in this movie was so boring

Do ya wanna be a bird, fly up high in the sky...
Loved the movie, but I agree about the acid trip part -- way too long and dull. Jack's ramblings about Venusians living & working on earth made up for it though. Big secret by the gov cause it would be too great a shock for our antiquated systems.

I think the acid trip runs long becuz they hadn't quite mastered the art of editing back then. Also, in the 70's people had attention spans longer than half a second, unlike now. What was I talking about?

Certainly an important movie, or, at least, an iconic film as it inspired an entire generation.
