What's the worst third entry in any series? I'm only going to include a handful and if people complain let me explain why I'm not including the following:

Resident Evil 3 - Come on, that whole trilogy sucked.

Sci Fi channel movies - Come on, don't waste my time.

Return of the Jedi - No Star Wars! I love Star Wars! Fuck you!

Robocop was generally cheesey so there was not much to expect. The Matrix was actually a good movie that devolved into a steaming pile of garbage that was the threequel.

Ratner just completely ignored the parallels between real life that the Mutants were meant to stand for, which gave those movies some depth, and instead just made a god awful action movie.

Spiderman 3 was also horrible and could have done without half the cast they had

FUCKSHIT. That was on my mind when I created this poll, seriously. It's pretty funny bad though, now. When the shark is slowly drifting towards the camera, and then the glass slowly shatters. Maybe it was amazing in 3D.

I think after Robocop, the next 2 sucked, so it's hard to say 3 was the worst.
I used to say X3 because of the aforementioned killing off of main characters and the aberration from the real comics, but as time has gone on and my denial has waned, Spiderman 3 was so bad, that I now hate Raimi. Douchey evil Peter, apparently destroying Venom after 10 minutes of screen time and the gargantuan Sandman. It could have been so much better.
