Since when is Mark Teahen Canadian?
Mark Thomas Teahen (pronounced /ˈtiːhɨn/ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:IPA_for_English), born September 6, 1981, in Redlands, California (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Redlands,_California)) is a Canadian Major League Baseball (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_League_Baseball) player for the Kansas City Royals (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kansas_City_Royals).
Just a naturalized citizen I guess.
The guys who couldn't make the initial 45-man US roster are now "Canadian"

Should be interesting to watch this year, especially since Arod decided to play with the Dominican team this year, and some top pitchers are missing this year from the US roster

Angels mgmt is not allowing their players to participate. I'm perfectly fine with that. World Baseball "Classic" is anything but...

He said a couple of weeks ago that he would like to play but it's up to the Mets. Allows him to save face in the country. They'll play up and injury so the Mets don't look too bad either. This tourney is horseshit. It's only a matter of time before a prominent guy gets hurt and all teams hold back their players. Baseball isn't conducive to shit like this the way soccer is.

Pitching is a problem for lots of countries. Canada won't have Dempster, Harden, Francis or Bedard. That right there is a pretty decent rotation.

that right there is a bunch of overrated, syrup drinking, cheesers.
Teahen always considered himself a Canadian. When a visiting player at the Skydome is Canadian, they put a little maple leaf next to their names on the Jumbotron. When the Royals were in town and Teahen came up, he noticed there was no maple leaf and told them about it, and now it's there all the time.

That kind of already happened, especially for the pitchers. I'm sure you can find it...but most of the pitchers who played in the first one had HORRIBLE post All-Star stats.
This whole thing is like a joke anyway. I don't think I watched a single game the first time around. Although the Dominican Republic looks pretty good.
