Bumping this up for my attention-whoring (though less attention whoring than those damn milestone threads) farewell-to-modship (jump before I'm demoted) speech.

I really don't do fuck all in Sports anymore. Gen Con has sucked for at least 3 years now. At least Politics and News are kept alive by a few passionate and misguided souls (you know who you are) but the real reason you never see most of the quality sports posters is the deterioration into one-liners, flamewars and over-moderation, which can be traced back to the departure of our great leader (one of the great sports posters), his sidekick and former golden arpy winner (the greatest) and the entry into the sports forum of our overlord, who, like it or not, does set the tone for much of the discussion, even though, despite his passion, he clearly lacks the knowledge or judgement to comment on sports with any perspective or intelligent criticism.

In spite of this horror, there do remain a number of quality contributors who do make this sports place worthwhile, even though, as I've explained to them, they are usually, very, very wrong. NuclearJew stands out to me, though I may be biased due to reading NFL threads far more heavily than anything else. Also, Pollo, GTSCH, Mr Crash, randystote, JT, even Stax, Jericho and archangel have some useful stuff to add from time to time.
And I always enjoyed reading the old school guys like ninja, bones charles and jemeske who are the reason I posted here 15000 times.

BTW, to everyone involved in our fantasy NBA leagues, I'm still going to crush you.
