LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall and Kristin Davis have signed contracts for a "Sex and the City" movie sequel, movie studio New Line Cinema said on Thursday.

New Line said writer-director Michael Patrick King has also signed a contract to write the script for the latest installment of a money-spinning franchise that includes a TV series and a book by Candace Bushnell.

The movie followed the highly successful HBO television series of the same name about the love lives of four single women in New York City. It met with lukewarm reviews upon its U.S. release in May 2008, but won the hearts of movie fans and grossed $415 million at worldwide box offices.
Entertainment website E! Online said shooting was expected to begin this summer with a release date in 2010.

Yay! A Sequel. But I'm mixed - The movie ended with everyone so happy. And I'm not sure what other storyline they can do. I'm still excited and will most definitely see it when it comes out.

You will absolutely love the series if you loved the movie. There are little things that I'm obsessed about and I'm in love and very obsessed with the SATC Franchise. The movie was alright for me, it wasn't the best movie I've seen but because it had been so long since the series finale -- I just cared they they got back together so I can watch them again.

But you should most definitely watch the series. I loved it.

my wife is moderately conservative and a wee bit uptight, my friends and I like to drink and smoke and watch movies etc. the two different concepts do not mix well, but hey, i cant stand her flag pole up their collective asses friends of hers.
