Ok this is kind of a stupid poll, but I got shit for this the other day.

I used the word copasetic in a sentence. I used it properly and everyone knew what I meant. Later on that day my friend started ragging on me and giving me shit for it. Though it wasn't acceptable and felt it was too "slangish". We were in an International Business lecture.

I see no problem in using the word or other words like it if you are in a situation where everyone knows what you are saying, ie. don't use it in a grade school or around taters.

It only works when the rest of your vocabulary is similar. If you randomly throw out the word and never use any words like it then you sound sort of arrogant and douchish.

It is defiantly part of my school/work vocabulary. When at home hanging out with friends (depending on the friends I am with) not so much. All depends where I am, I can dumb it down or smarten up for my surroundings.

Really? You know people that are flabbergasted by "copasetic"?

But seriously, copasetic is kind of a douchey word and it's not even a big word that will make you popular. I only hear it from hipster douches and from people mocking hipster douches. I would have made fun of you too. Why not just say "cool"? I'm pretty sure that word is still copasetic.

My prof is not the kind of guy who likes words like cool. He is a bit uptight, and favors people with extensive vocabularies. Like I said, I adapt to my surroundings. I wouldn't be using it when out with a bunch of drinking buddies getting sloshed. But if the person who you are talking to uses vocabulary like that there is no problem in humoring them.

The douches at the people who get upset with people using words that have a meaning and are acceptable in the current situation. Also people who live and breath stimgas.

You are also just mad that your tiny wiener is in 2nd place.

All depends on the people you are with. Most people a cool, would most likely fly. But if they are pretentious and in a formal setting and in a position of power, then you should probably go by their rules, or at least their liking. There is no lack of confidence, and infact the fact that you can use a word like it with a person of higher knowledge also shows confidence. Trust me I lack no confidence, and that was not the reason behind using it.
