If you do your banking online, you might want to start printing off copies of your balance. I used Bank of America, and noticed that they were being creative clearing my checks and holding my deposits. One day it would show a deposit and a check clearing, then the next the deposit was on hold and the check hadn't cleared, so I started printing copies daily. They tried to get me for something obscene, like $300 in overdraft fees, so I took my copies to the bank and raised hell. They had to erase the fees and cover the overdrafts I was being charged on the checks they had bounced. Yeah, I took my business elsewhere after that.

Yeah a lot of banks do that and its completely BS. Their excuse is that they are prioritizing the withdrawals from highest to lowest for your benefit, so its less likely something important like a mortgage payment bounces. But again its all BS to make the maximum amount of fees possible.

NC State Employees Credit Union FTW!

Seriously. Credit Unions are the way to go. They have the best interest rates. The overdraft fee is like $5 or some shit and they are the only banks that seem to care about individual members. All of the other banks I have been with treat customers like they are wasting their time and have absolutely no emphasis on customer satisfaction. I was with Wachovia, Bank of America, and BB&T before joining the credit union. They all sucked massive ammounts of schlong. BB&T was the worst though. They did some really sneaky type shit.

Well today was a bummer day at work. They announced layoffs start next week.
The first will be 1 month voluntary (assuming they get enough volunteers), then if it doesn't pick up they will start chopping at the bottom of the seniority list. While I should be safe in the fact that the slower things get at the plant, the busier my job becomes, the fact that we are back at the point of layoffs for anyone sucks balls.
I talked to the plant manager today and he seemed pretty discouraged. He's not a typical plant manager of an uncaring business guy in a suit without a heart. He makes a point of walking the floor every day and greeting everyone and always asks people how they are doing. In all my years of working in factories and shops he is probably the most liked plant manager I've had.
After having gone through being laid off twice in the last 5 years, I don't wish it on anyone, it's a bit stressful when you have a family and a mortgage to say the least.

not long afterwards his wife started having a fever or some bullshit. yadda, yadda, yadda, she ends up in the hospitol. dr. says it's one thing, claydon disagrees (god he's so adoreable when he's a badass). claydon calls out doc in front of his staff and to shut him the fuck up they bring in the specialist gaydon wants. turns out, life is hell living w/ claydon and his wife was just trying to off herself. claydon interfiered, now life sucks for her once again.

next day, claydon went to visit her at the hospital, got hung up in the pediatrics ward, never made it to his wifes room.

I spent 5 years getting a degree, an extremely difficult degree. I have never worked in my field and still can't get a job there.
Now I'm unemployed (laid-off) and I sit here waiting to see how long it will take for the bills I accumulated getting that education to suck dry the few dollars I have in the bank.
I have applied for EI and some of my friends seemed to do okay when they've had to use it but I have my doubts.
I'm getting really fucking bored sitting around and trying my best not to spend money. Even a haircut seems extravagant right now.
The girl I've been talking to for months mysteriously stopped talking to me/texting me. All signs point to her hooking up with some other guy or her ex, possibly because I went to Vancouver when she wanted to hang out. She's ditched so many times I can't keep track. What a waste of fucking time.
