Pretend you're going to relive your life from head to toe, starting from your earliest memory. Except before all that happens, you'll be given a choice where you'll always be lied to by everyone around you, or be told the truth. Always. And when I said everyone, I mean from random people you don't know but passed by to those you have or had relationships with. Think of everything that was said too late or never had any light shined on the subject/issue/yaddayaddayadda and decide which would you pick. I do realize if things were said or never said, you probably wouldn't be at a certain point where you found something or someone you love, most likely everything starting from grade school would be different. But for this, just pretend your life unfolds the same. And cause you know, I'm a little nosey. I'd also like to know why you pick one over the other.

basically Gilligan's Island already addressed this issue with the magic berries they found which allowed them to read everyone's thoughts. they decided to throw them into the ocean,
I think a better way to phrase the options is you would be able to go back and instantly know if someone is lying to you after they said something. They would not always be lying

I thought this poll was going to have something to do with using the toilet. Something like, "after taking a crap do you":
1) name your turds after your enemies and then flush them down
or
2) wave a solemn goodbye as your poops swirl away

This seems more like a philosophy poll than gen con. but...
I choose honesty, because it's the easier of the two. It would be interesting to have people lie to you all the time for a couple weeks, but, all the time? That world would be so completely different from ours. Facts would disappear, statistics would become irrelevant, which, much as I prefer theory or metaphor to cold black and white truths, you can't really have food metaphors without the latter, and in a world of deception, you'd be forced into a fantasy world or become entirely self-obsessed. You'd have no real world outside your own ideas. Hmm, the more I think about it, the more I see why that option would be interesting full-time
The thing I wonder for the deception option, is would the idea of truth dissapear in a world like that, or would it become an even greater ideal?
Oh, and how much of this is brought on by the Ricky Gervais flick?

I think people have been pretty honest with me throughout my entire life. Even to the point that it's caused allot of pain and heartache. So I'm curious what its like to be one of those people who's sheltered by everyone around them.
