He's not sorry, He made millions, I wouldn't be sorry. Who I really want an apology from is all of the people who bought the cd (or cassette, whatever).

And MTV/top 40 radio stations for shoving it down our throats. Years later MTV had a show to point out how silly old trends are and how silly we were for listening to that song as if they weren't the only fucking reason it became a national phenomenon! Well them and Queen who wrote it.
FUCK YOU ALL!
Anyone that had ANYTHING to do with the making of this has NOTHING to apologize for. Still one of the funniest skits I have ever seen. Top 10 fo sho.

It's fucking sad that back then, Vanilla Ice was ridiculed and vilified, while today, people actually take Flo Rida - who makes Vanilla Ice look like Rakim - seriously.

Fuck this, we can hate him all he wants but:
a) He's made millions: we bought the song, still listen to it and still drunken dance to it.
b) It's still one of the most recognised songs ever.
Fuck music snobs.
He isn't sorry, this is part of a Virgin viral marketing campaign. Bunch of sheep.

I saw him perform less than 2 months ago live during half-time of a Denver Nuggets game. I've never heard a quieter crowd of 15,000 people in my life. Yeah, its gotten that bad for him.

Not sure what I should feel worse about... you having to sit through halftime or the rest of the game.

it's recognizable because he stole the infectuous hook from the david bowie/Queen song "under pressure".

Trying so hard. Oh, so hard to be relevant. But too hard.
Congrats on not only stealing one 70's song, but now you have to steal "Play That Funky Music" from the 70s too? What's next, Kung Fu Fighting or Afternoon Delight?

What you mean is...he took a hook from Queen and David Bowie...and made it live forever. I know, I know, David Bowie is a GOD and Queen rules and everything, but let's be honest, that sound would have been dead and buried by now if not for Vanilla Ice. Hell, half the time, when I hear "Under Pressure" at the bars it is followed by a quiet groan of people who were hoping they could geek out and laugh to "Ice, Ice, Baby".
But to be fair, you really can't compare the two.

You should learn that most people are retards. I bet more than two-thirds of people who hear that hook put it towards Vanilla Ice, instead of Queen. In fact, I've never heard that hook come on and someone say "sweet, some Queen".
I have. But that's probably because I am a huge homo love Queen.

Umm, maybe you should pull your head out of your ass.
Regardless of wherever he got the hook from, my point still stands. And, I hate to break this to you, but there are plenty of successful songs that have been inspired by other tracks.

inspired? that's charitable. the only thing memorable about the song is the hook. the only thing memorable about the video was his hair and shoulder pads.
"inspired" would be an appropriate term for when Puff Daddy sampled the Police's "Every breath you take" for his tribute to Notorious B.I.G.
This has probably been posted already, but so what?

oh I forgot. You are an expert on everything.
actually, Sting performed the song with Puff Daddy on stage at the 1997 VH-1 awards. it was with his blessing, unlike Vanilla who to this day claims it is not the same hook.
Archangel

Both songs sample beats from other songs.
One song also takes the entire melody and 90% of the lyrics of the hook of the song it samples.
But it's the other song which is plagiarism, because... you say so, I guess.
If that makes sense to you, you need to have your head checked. Oh, and it wasn't VH-1, it was the MTV VMAs. Sorry for knowing better.
Both songs are mocked today.
It's a good thing he salvaged his career with Ninja Rap.

Arch:
It is not plagirism because the guy who wrote the song and sung it first gave permissison to Puff Daddy to use it...and then got up on stage and sang it with him at it's debut.
No one can call I"ce Ice Baby" a great song just because it sold a lot of records. "Macarena" sold a lot too. At least it was original.

I would mock, but somewhere out there is a video of me in a 4th grade talent show punching the air to "Ninja, Ninja Rap GO!GO!GO!GO!GONINJAGONINJAGO!"
It is a wonder my parents didn't just leave me on the side of the road after that debacle.
