The Hochuli challenge took a short hiatus after the Super Bowl, but it's back in time for March Madness!
One week from now, we'll know the field of 65 heading to the dance. Why not have a little madness ourselves? As a GMF first, I'd like to set a field of 30 college hoops fanatics (32 in total including Bones and myself) in which all of us compete for the right to be named GMF's college hoops guru. Each of the 30 participants will be given a seed ranking (2-16) based on the following:
General sports knowledge (more so college hoops)
GMF status (admin, mod, vet status only for initial signups ... if spots remain, anyone can signup)
Previous Hochuli challenge victories
Personal argument for a particular seeding (something simple, not a damn essay)
Once seeded, you'll select winners from a variety of tourney games chosen for your particular matchup. The player that correctly selects more games advances and faces the winner of another matchup based on the bracket created for the field of 32. Other conditions to the Hochuli March Madness challenge are as follows:
In the event of a tie in any matchup, a tiebreaker will be given based on (1) other NCAA tourney games and/or (2) NBA games.
If there is still a tie after a tiebreaker, the higher seed advances.
It is essential every player turn in their selections by the necessary deadlines. Failure to do so by one player in any matchup leads to an automatic opponent win and advancement. (SIGN UP KNOWING YOU'LL BE AROUND TO MAKE ALL PICKS)
Prizes have yet to be determined, but expect reward distribution on how you place in the challenge (i.e., Sweet 16, Elite 8, Final 4, Runnerup and Winner).
From Old/New GMF, anyone who has signuped for the Hochuli challenge is automatically entered for consideration for this challenge. I'll personally PM each person from these lists asking if they wish to participate or not. Regardless, if you wish to make a case for a particular seed, do so in this signup thread by Selection Sunday. If you wish to participate and aren't on previous Hochuli challenge signup lists, do so here.
