You know what I do?
I order a DVD or some such which she always wanted and keep it hidden. When she gets cross with me, say, for coming home drunk at 5am when I'd promised to go to her parents' the day after, I just whip out the present when she's calmed down a bit, and go, "oh, this arrived for you yesterday".
You can't overdo it, obviously, or she'll get wise to your act; but twice a year or so, it works like a charm.

wife got a 'forwarded' email that was addressed to me. a love letter of sorts, she got upset, i looked at it, realized it was bullshit.
only 1 group of fuck ups would pull this off.

Yes, the best way to find out the culprit is to delete the message rather than get information from it or whatever which may allow you some idea of where it came from, and instead act like Inspector fucking Clouseau on here.
