When I was a kid, my parents used to like to play Scrabble a lot, and by a lot I mean every fucking time we had company over. None of them were athletes or all that successful in life, but when it came to knowing every friggin’ two letter word in that God-forsaken dictionary the game came with, my folks were nigh impossible to trump. Granted, I think it did wonders for my literacy performance (not as much as the comic books and the Playboys; honest to God, those articles ARE actually very well done), but there’s only so much restraint that can be shown as your Grandma beats the neighbors with the cute daughter and a swimming pool, thereby ruining your chances of ever encountering said daughter in said swimming pool… :(
