It's better than you think. One of the coolest "birth of a superhero team" films we've seen in a while. Smart, funny (Rogen kills), and the 3D animation is top flight. See it. Then come back here and discuss.

"we've"?

And for me, the most exciting thing for this movie was not the movie but the composer Henry Jackman. For those who do not know, Jackman is Hans Zimmers right hand man. One of Zimmer's best scores I think is At World's End and Jackman is responsible for almost every track on that album. Jackman also did something work with the Dark Knight score as well.

See it in 3-D. It really helps.

I'm going to see it at the drive in on Sunday high as fuck. I'm sure that will help too.

I am taking the kids tonight. Not high, though.

I have to admit, first cartoon movie that kids want to see that doesn't make me want to bring a pillow. It might be pretty good.

PS- Never ever, ever, ever, See Wall-E

Yeah i have to say.. It was really well written and executed. It takes a serious amount of talent to make a movie where you don't require words to get your message across.

Its that reason that makes 2001: a space odyssey such a great movie.

Gonna go see it tomorrow, first thing early show. The 2.5 year old will probably freak out and either myself or the wife will miss the last 30 minutes or so.
And before you all get assholey about taking young kids to the movies, the second he acts up, he's fucking out.

Agreed. I enjoyed it. It was fun and pretty decent for a Dreamworks "kids" movie.

I think it also helped I went at 3:30 yesterday and there were maybe 7 people in the theater and only 2 little kids (maybe 4 or 5 years old) who actually shut up when the movie started.

Holy Crap...I stand corrected. Maybe I will see it without the kids next time...but damn, I don't remember it being very good. A bunch of asshole cleaning robots and fat people.

But, I can admit when I am wrong, and well, it appears I am wrong here!

after the first shrek, i was hoping dream works was going to become the adult friendly pixar. but then they made that shitty movie with will smith and jack black.

they have been on a slight rebound. kung fu panda wasn't bad.
