MLB expanding to include franchises in foreign countries?

Would you be for or against a move that would see MLB put teams in Japan and Korea, Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico? I don't know about some of you, but that seems to be the natural evolution of the game. What do you think?

I say no. The travel would be too much to places like Asia or Europe (same for NBA on this topic). I think those teams may have trouble signing FAs as well because they're outside of the US as well.

I could see an expansion south, DR, PR, Mexico. But the problems with that is the stability of overseas governments. They could put a team in Puerto Rico and be fine, but DR, Venezuela, Mexico, Columbia aren't exactly the safest places in the world. The drug cartels and domestic terrorists in those countries could cause all kinds of problems.

In that case, an expansion East would make more sense, but I'm not sure the Japanese pro league would appreciate MLB moving into their territory. But travel would be a bitch.

I could totally see a team for Puerto Rico, though.

Once travel times are reduced to less than 6 hours to any place on Earth, (save places like Antarctica, Greenland, and Utah) then I would have to be against this idea. After that, I would be all for it.

Instead of incorporating them into existing leagues, I'd prefer to see a new league with all of the non-US teams. Champion of that league could play the World Series champ for a true World series Champion.
