I think that Dallas' regular season record was more impressive and they lost to a Golden State team that did nothing. San Jose lost to the Stanley Cup champions from two years ago.

NBA upsets are bigger.

In the NHL so much is out of the players control. Pucks bounce. Sticks break. Penalties get missed/called. One player can get so hot that the other team cannot score. Upsets happen all the time in hockey.

A #1 seed should never lose in the first round of the NBA playoffs.

The 2008-09 Anaheim Ducks are only a couple years removed from winning a championship. It's not like the Sharks got punked by a team that's never been successful.

And home ice advantage doesn't mean too much in hockey. But it's nice to have.
