Do you feel like you need to take drugs to make certain music? Do you feel like you need to take drugs to listen to certain music?
What drugs do you like to use when you're listening to music?
Do prefer different drugs to different kinds of music?

Discuss and shit.

The only way I can listen to rap anymore is when I am high. Everything else, I can listen to sober or not...

I do drink a lot of beer when I play and sing, not when I write however. I can't say that drinking helps my performance, but it helps me to not be so self-conscious. I'm sure that some would implore me not to sing under any circumstances, drunk or sober!

I get together with a few guys every tuesday night and we get drunk and jam. It starts out with all these elaborate things we try to do, and the more drunk and/or stoned we get, the more it devolves into us being a Pixies and Sonic Youth cover band.

And the only time I can enjoy AC/DC is when I'm drunk.

I can't play for shit when I'm stoned. I've never written music high, ever.

The Doors make a lot more sense when you're stoned, but the best band IMO to listen to whilst under altered ambience is Queens of the Stone Age.

I can play when I'm pissed, but it takes a truckload of Grolsch to make my voice sound anything more than that of a goose farting in the fog...

Sounds like a Spacemen Three album.

Nah, I don't like making/playing music whilst stoned.
Drunk on the other hand is quite pleasureable.

Reggae is good and all, but I love it so much more when I'm blazed.

As a drummer....I find that I quickly lose the finesse and control I have with my feet when I get a little buzzed. As far as being drunk or stoned (over the top) I simply can not play the drums effectively at all - I lose my coordination....which I can simplify if needed, but my sense of meter goes out the window too..... That's more important.

I will have a beer or two (or a couple shots of Jack) before each gig, especially when in a recording session- simply because it smooths me out, but that's it.

I get calls regularly for sub gigs with different groups if I'm available. One group in particular plays a lot of blues and country-ish type stuff.....fuck it, I'll get buzzed, and push it to the edge, as it's almost intolerable material to play at times.

Drunk and Playing music beats being stoned. It's too easy to get distracted when high
