the creeps

for a while i have only been getting collections of cds at a time. so i if couldn't find a artist with a decent sized discography i wasn't getting that artist.
but i am sure some cds have come out in recent times that are totally worth checking out. i don't listen to the radio, or any music on tv so i am very much on the dark.
so i am looking for artists and/or cds that have been released in like the last 2 years that have been great, i would even settle for good.
nothing is off limits, but i would prefer up tempo shit.

Off the top of my head, I've enjoyed these. The problem is, I go through periods of listening to a lot of music, then no music, so it all gets a little lost in the shuffle.

Just listened to the new Green Day CD, it is most excellent vintage GD. The songs are catchy, have good riffs and that signature Green Day sound.
I hate their political views, but I love the fact that they can have them and still make some seriously good music. If only RAM had taken this path.

REM? Or Rage?
I was thinking Rage. I really liked their first 2 albums, but as they seemed to become more and more politically outspoken their music became crappier and crappier. Like they were more focused on being edgy and rebelling than making music that sounded good. Green Day has a very definite political message but they still make kick ass music so I don't care.
I was never really a fan of REM so I didn't care what their political views were.
