I can go back and play CS and still have loads of fun, I dare you to try that with GoldenEye. Worst. Controls. Ever.

I can still do that with Perfect Dark.

THERAD TITLE: Poll: Shooter (Old School)

;)

Oh you mean what sub forum its in 'GMF's Favourite Games (http://forum.gorillamask.net/forumdisplay.php?f=188)'

Well just because I loved spinach when I was a kid I wouldn't say its my favorite food now. Standing the test of time is an important factor.

Quake 2 along with MPlayer were my introduction to online multiplayer and clan play back in '98.

To this very day I still play COD:UO about 4-5 times a week online. It is still to me the best overall shooter of all time in terms of playability, adaptability, and realism. It's graphics are a bit dated now of course, but it still has loads of playability.

I'm assuming that the Goldeneye people didn't play Perfect Dark, seeing as it was an upgraded version of Goldeneye w/ more stuff

I voted Twisted Metal 2 because it's the only poll that I can. And it's fucking awesome

Perfect Dark was superior to Goldeneye in terms of gameplay and content. But I guess it's the nostalgia of goldeneye that draws people back to it. I played the hell out of both and vote Perfect Dark all the way.

Yes, it was. The multiplayer had buckets more options and weapons (laptop gun!!) and bots (which The World is Not Enough had also). But I liked the Goldeneye missions so much more than Perfect Dark. Also PD made you buy that fucking expansion pack for your 64 to be able to play the single player in the first place, which I didnt have so fuck that.

that shit came with DK64 which any real gamer already owned the day it came out anyways

I remember buying it specifically for PD64. Worth it. The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask needed it too- and that was an amazing game too, but doesn't get as much credit as it deserves.

That's my point. Using not owning an expansion pack as a reason not to vote for PD says more about the gamer than the game. So many other good games required it for play and a few even came with it

Whatever man, I was a broke child when all this was going down, I hardly think that not owning an expansion pack has any bearing on my gamerness.

Oh yeah, Fuck DK64 and Banjo Kazooie

I also voted for the Twisted Metal 2...for the same reasons.

Though, I must say that it was difficult to pass up the button for Galaga.

When people started memorizing the spawn points and setting up proximity grenades on them in Goldeneye, I stopped playing. I'll go with CounterStrike.
