i hate people that are only interested in sports cause their school/home team is doing well.
also, UCF will be tough as fuck to beat.
irvine, wsu, and gonzaga all came to the uw to play this year. i got to go to an irvine and a zags game. those fucking cal schools are just a cut above. guess that's what you get when you have good baseball weather 360 days a year.

Just because I don't post in the forum doesn't mean I don't know anything about baseball. I have a life you know. Plus, if I did want to talk about baseball, I'd prefer to talk about it with people in real life.

CSUFullerton is always good. We've hosted a regional I don't know how many years in a row. I looked at the bracket and decided I'd go on Sunday since I knew there was no way in hell they would lose to Utah (18-2!) on Friday night. Speaking of Gonzaga, that's who they match up with tonight. I think this is the Zags first trip since '81.
UCI is for real this year too. And it looks like they are quickley establishing a rivalry with Fullerton. Hell, they beat us on Omaha last year, those fucks. But we stole their coach after ours went to Oregon.
I love this time of year. Lakers in the Finals, my school in the World Series, summer around the corner. Ah yeah.

How's everyone's teams doing? We advanced to the regional championship game. SC beat us pretty bad on saturday, but we're up 4-0 on them in the bottom of the 6th in the championship game(s).

OSU has done quite well, for a team that was lucky to get in. But Clemson is getting revenge right now early. They gotta beat us twice though.
Is there anywhere online I can watch these games for free?

cbssports.com has all the games streaming for free. I found the link through ECU's athletic site, so you can probably do the same for whatever team you're trying to watch.
Nice. Thanks.
I just want to watch any random game... we have games at work but I can't watch any at home on cable

What won't show up in the stat sheet: Anger. Pent up anger. The Pirates have a rabid following, incredible facilities and eight 40-win seasons in the past 10 years. But the one burr in the saddle has been the Heels. ECU is just 2-12 vs. UNC in the 2000s, and all that frustration has to manifest itself at some point. With their hot bats and incredible momentum following that remarkable bottom-of-the-ninth comeback vs. the Gamecocks, this could be the perfect time.

For those who care, the new stadium in Omaha for the CWS has a name.
http://omaha.com/article/20090609/NEWS01/306099997/0/FRONTPAGE
TD Ameritrade Park has a sweet $20 million ring to it.
The Omaha-based online brokerage firm has reached an agreement to acquire the naming rights for the city's new downtown ballpark, Roger Dixon, president of the Metropolitan Entertainment and Convention Authority, said Monday.
Under the agreement, TD Ameritrade will pay an average of about $1 million a year over 20 years for the naming rights, Dixon said. However, in the first years, payments will start around $750, 000 and go up from there.
"We're very excited," Dixon said. "In today's tough economic times, it's great that we have a local company like TD Ameritrade stepping up."

Bracket 1 is pretty dangerous. The #1 seeds are strong (CSUF, LSU) and even the #2 seeds are running on all cylinders. Arkansas crushed people and Virginia knocked off UCI in the regional.
As far as Bracket 2 is concerned, I think that ASU is the team to beat right now. Texas and UNC are the big names but are not infallible. I know absolutely nothing about Southern Miss and I expect them to go 0-2.
Should be a great World Series.
Going w/Fullerton vs ASU in the Final, but there's at least 6 teams who can win it all.

Just got back from the game. 7 hours from when I left home and I don't live THAT far away. Long fucking game.
Pretty boring for the first half (and once again, the only time I left my seat a home run was hit to our side of the field.
The blast in the bottom of the ninth to tie the game was enormous, I honestly thought it was going out of the stadium.
Virginia basically had seven million chances to win, especially in extras, when I think they had a guy on second to lead off the 10th, 11th, and 12th.
Bonus points because I was cheering for Arkansas.

Forgot to post these. From the Arkansas-Virginia game. Arkansas hit a 2 run shot in the 9th to tie it and eventually win in extras. Virginia blew major opportunities in like the last four innings to win it. Great game. Maybe the best I've seen in person. Tix were free and I didn't have to wait hours in the sun for GA seats. Next year is the last at Rosenblatt.
