I'm assuming this is the new upcoming track from Rock Band 2.

Any haters? Lovers? Axl Defenders out there?

This song definitely grew on me. I love the low-register axl voice in the chorus. I was wondering when that was gonna pop up in the new tracks.

Yes the new lineup has a synth player. And robin finck who plays guitar in gnr also was and is touring with NIN. So chinese Democracy is very industrial sounding.

First Taste of Guns N Roses Chinese Democracy Ready For Debut

by Paul Cashmere - September 13 2008

The Chinese Democracy roll-out will begin on Sunday (September 14). As of tomorrow, the first taste of the album will be released as part of Rock Band 2.

‘Shackler’s Revenge’ will be the first officially released Guns ‘N Roses song since ‘Oh My God’ from 1999’s ‘End of Days’ soundtrack.

‘Shackler’s Revenge’ is one of 84 tracks to feature on the game Rock Band 2. While most of the songs featured in the game are previously released, Guns ‘N Roses are using the gamers audience to introduce themselves back into the world with their new music.

It is the beginning of what is expected to be a series of announcements about Guns ‘N Roses, the main point being that the album will be finally released and before Christmas.

Axl Rose has delayed the release of this album for more than a decade. However, in recent months, a leak of demos from the album was circulated on the Internet, which lead to the arrest of the poster.

While the leak was 100% illegal and infringed the rights of the band, it did create a new interest in the title.

By getting the album out in November, Guns ‘N Roses will have a chance to claw back some of the control of the distribution and finally put this long overdue release in the hands of the fans.

So the highly successful tour in 2006-2007 was bullshit? Obviously the songs have been recorded, and some were played during that tour. Universal records says they are in possession of chinese democracy are they bullshitting also? Axl has played the entire album for people, sebastian bach del james to name a few. are these people bullshiting also? sounds like the 911 conspiracy to me.

If he gave a shit about this album it would have been released by now. It's the longest running joke in music history. Even Supe, who loves GNR more than anyone I know doesn't have his mouth around the Chinese Democracy cock as mush as you. You're in denial.

All the Universal reps can say it's ready because they want to keep fueling the story. If there's no news, bullshit or not, people won't give a fuck about the possibility of this album. After 15 years, there is no fucking way the actual product if and when it's finally released will ever match the hype.

According to RollingStone.com, it is rumored that GUNS N' ROSES' long-awaited new album "Chinese Democracy" will be released exclusively through Best Buy on November 25. The source of the rumor is a supposed "vendor convention" that Best Buy had on Wednesday in Dallas, Texas. GUNS manager Andy Gould told the 900 employees the news about "Chinese Democracy" before previewing three songs from the album. Gould also reportedly revealed that the new GN'R song "If The World" will be featured in the closing credits for the upcoming Leonardo DiCaprio/Russell Crowe film "Body of Lies", which was confirmed by message boarders on movie websites (like IMDB) who happened to catch a press screening of the film yesterday.

well you better start learning time travel. This from rollingstone.com

There’s yet another sign that this might finally be the year for Guns N’ Roses long-in-the-works Chinese Democracy. Rolling Stone can confirm that the album track “If The World” — a version of which leaked earlier this year — will appear in the upcoming Leonard Dicaprio/Russell Crowe movie Body of Lies, in theaters October 10th. The track features the guitar work of GNR guitarist Robin Finck, as well as Buckethead, who left the band in 2004. The song plays during the closing credits of the movie, but it won’t appear on the soundtrack album. It will be the second official release of a Chinese Democracy track, as “Shackler’s Revenge” is included in the new Rock Band 2 game. A source has told Rolling Stone that Guns N’ Roses has reserved a November 25th date for the possible release of the album, which will be a Best Buy exclusive.

Jonathan Cohen, N.Y.
More than a decade after its conception, Guns N' Roses' "Chinese Democracy" will finally see the light of day before year's end, sources close to the situation confirm to Billboard. As first reported here, the set will be a Best Buy exclusive and will be available Sunday, Nov. 23, rather than the usual Tuesday.

Beyond enticing pre-Thanksgiving shoppers, the move is tied to the structure of Best Buy's sales week, which runs from Sunday to Saturday. As such, "Chinese Democracy" would not be eligible to chart on The Billboard 200 until the week of Dec. 1, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

In the run-up to release date, album track "Shackler's Revenge" will debut in the video game "Rock Band 2," while a portion of "If the World" is playing over the end credits in the new Leonardo DiCaprio/Russell Crowe film "Body of Lies."

In addition, GNR's seminal 1987 debut, "Appetite for Destruction," will be reissued on vinyl on Oct. 28 via Interscope.

The band's last new studio albums were the simultaneously released "Use Your Illusion I" and "II" in September 1991. A covers set, "The Spaghetti Incident?," followed in 1993, and featured some of the last GNR recordings from original guitarist Slash and bassist Duff McKagan.

This spring, soft drink manufacturer Dr Pepper offered to send a free can of the beverage to "everyone in America" (excluding ex-GNR members Slash and Buckethead) if "Chinese Democracy" were to arrive anytime during the calendar year 2008. A Dr Pepper spokesperson was unavailable for comment at deadline.

Because you have to brainwash the public to buy an album in mass nowadays. Especially one in the making for 15 years. Most people seeing it either won't believe it or will be laughing too hard once they see it and then dropping dead. In case you haven't heard, album sales are way the fuck down.

And if it's an "exclusive" deal with Best Buy, they'll want to promote the fuck out of it like with anything else they have special.

GUNS N' ROSES: 'Chinese Democracy' Pre-Order Page Launched At BestBuy.com - Oct. 15, 2008 BestBuy.com is currently taking pre-orders for the long-awaited GUNS N' ROSES album "Chinese Democracy" at this location (http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp;jsessionid=OD5ILWRPFEF3LKC4D3JVAHQ?_dy ncharset=ISO-8859-1&id=pcat17071&type=page&st=chinese+democracy&sc=Global&cp=1&nrp=15&sp=&qp=&list=n&iht=y&usc=All+Categories&ks=960). According to the site, the album will be released on November 25 and will be made available on CD and vinyl format. Furthermore, fans have a choice between three different CD and LP covers, although exact details have not yet been revealed.

Billboard magazine reported last week that "Chinese Democracy" would be released on Sunday, November 23 via an exclusive deal with Best Buy. To whet fans' appetites, so to speak, the group's label will reissue its classic 1987 debut, "Appetite for Destruction", in a new vinyl edition on October 28. One new GUNS song, called "If The World", can be heard in part over the end credits of the film "Body of Lies", which opened this past Friday (October 10), while another track, "Shackler's Revenge", will make its debut on Rock Band 2 at the end of this month.

The last all-new GUNS N' ROSES releases were the 1991 double albums "Use Your Illusion I" and "II". Since that time, every single original member of the band except for singer Axl Rose has departed.

"Chinese Democracy" has been in the works since the mid-'90s, with speculation and mystery surrounding the album's 13-year journey, ever-changing roster of players and spiraling recording costs.

Keyboardist Dizzy Reed, who joined in 1990 and is the longest-serving member after Rose, told The Pulse of Radio a while back that he thinks fans will be pleased when they finally get to hear the results. "It's a pretty intense musical (http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=106897#) journey, really," he said. "Everyone that is in the band, or was in the band at some point — 'cause there, you know, there's been a few guys who have come and gone even since the old band — has contributed, and because of that I think it really takes you to some interesting musical places. When you add Axl and guitars, of course, though, it kinda glues it all together. There's something for everybody, but I think if you're a GUNS fan, if you're an Axl fan, you'll like it all. You'll love it all."

I just read through this whole thing and have come to a conclusion:

This Pat Cooper poster is a fucking retard. He's extremely close to going full retard.

I think he is Axl, or Axl's inbred lovechild.

why is that because i am correct in saying the chinese democracy is coming out this year?
and a band like gnr does not need 2 months worth of promotion to be able to have a successful record?

And i am starting to wonder if anyone here knows who and what Pat Cooper is!

good one. only 1 problem. axl was the roses part of gnr.
and to tell the truth back in the day i was a more a fan of slash than axl.
and there are plenty of gnr songs that i don't like. new and old both.

I'm aware of how the name was derived.

Believe me, I didn't come up with "Axl N' Roses", but is very fitting at this point in time.

It’s a day many Guns N’ Roses fans thought would never come: Chinese Democracy, the album Axl Rose has labored over for more than a decade, will finally hit stores on Sunday, November 23rd (a departure from the normal Tuesday record release day). The album will be sold exclusively in Best Buy stores and online at Bestbuy.com and iTunes . A music video is in the works, and the band — in which Rose is the only remaining original member — is expected to tour in 2009 , according to a source close to G N’ R. “The music is well worth waiting for,” says Gary Arnold, senior entertainment officer for Best Buy, which began negotiating the deal in 2007. “We’ve all heard the stories about this album, and now everybody gets to hear that it’s real.” The album’s 14 songs include the poppy “Better,” the industrial rocker “Shackler’s Revenge” (featured in the new Rock Band 2), the power ballad “If the World” (which plays in the new film Body of Lies), the anthemic title track and a song called “Scraped ” that was previously unknown to fans. “It’s going to be a great rock Christmas,” Arnold says. “I just hope it doesn’t take 14 years for the next one.” Bestbuy.com has a listings page up that isn’t taking pre-orders

Yes, Rolling Stone has never jumped the gun and put a release date in their magazine or on their site only to have it not come out. I believe the last Eve album was supposed to be out in 2004. At least Rolling Stone told me so one day when I was on the can.

Again, when it's actually in my hand, I'll believe it. As I drink my Dr. Pepper.

So worst cover art or worst cover art ever?

There really has to be no way that that is the real cover art.

If you gave a 5 year old a piece of paper and some water colors, they could draw up something better than that.

This is why I am still skeptical. Axl and his management have said nothing of the source. All we hear is "a best buy executive" blah blah blah. I still too can't believe there's ZERO promotion behind the album with 5 weeks to go. No single, no confirmation, etc. And I know PC will say GN'R doesn't need it. But in today's album sales you can't not promote.

Well a known person who is involved with the gnr camp has said that "axl is currently working on his press release and it will be available as soon as he is done."
This person helped put the presale together for htgth.com for all 4 hammerstein shows in ny back in 2006. He is highly reliable.
