I get Madden for the PS3 (formerly PS2) every year. This will be a preorder picked up at midnight with the other fanboys, where I own them in Madden Trivia and take home that case of Pepsi and a $5 Gamestop gift card.

You're gonna get Madden on PS3?

Sweet. I'll have to get with you closer to the release. See if you want to join in on the Madden community I roll with.

You would rather just play by yourself? How cute.

I'm not much of an online gamer either. Ever since NFL2k5, I only play about a game a week online (which is in my online league)

NFL2k5 I played a shitload online because I was actually really fucking good.

I just don't play games that much period. I'll do the online roster updates, play my franchise for 2 seasons, and then sell the game on ebay.

I have more important things like going to Summerfest tonight to see/meet/get hammered with Billy Squire.

I'll be getting Live eventually, and I'll have to look into joining a league. It's been years since I've even played Madden, let alone been good at it.

ShitBreak

joining "communities" is the only way to go if you play online anymore. 98% of the people who play online are fucking retards and make the game no fun. The other 2% just all play against each other, play by a code of conduct, and have a lot more fun.

This community I play with, I've been playing with since NFL2k5, and they were together before that. They started on NFL2k3 on Dreamcast.

Yeah I could get down with that. Not sure how to get into it, but I'll figure it out in a couple months I guess. I know what you're saying with douchey kids though. I played the NCAA when Young and Leinart were stars, and EVERY FUCKING GAME I PLAYED was against Texas. No fun.

I'll be getting this for the ps3. I'm hoping I can get a couple of my buddies that have ps3's to start up a league or something.(always had it for the 360, but never got online because I didn't want to pay for XBL)

Well if anyone is interested, just let me know. We do other sports too. We have a baseball league on MLB 09 going right now, they just finished a UFC Tournament, getting ready to start up a Fight Night Round 4 thing, and I ran a WWE league for a season (Draven/XXIII was even in that...even though he's a retard)

Some of them are laughable man. Go look at the Cowboys.

And Tony Gonzalez is a 98. Is he literally 2 steps away from being THE PERFECT tight end?

Well...Gonzo is the best TE to ever play the game.

I'm just going to enjoy having the best offense in the history of my gaming with the Falcons. I mean, Ryan is good, Turner is a fucking 95, Gonzo is a 98, and Hot Rod is a 93.

They will be if you know how to play defense. Their defense is horrid. No CBs above 80, and a starting LB in the 60s.

But offensively, they are one of the best teams in the game. But I fucking hate the type of people who basically only play offense, then just use a DE all game on defense. So, as a whole team, they might be a bit tough.

I refuse to buy a game that barely changes year to year. For me sports games go like this.

NHL - new gamer every 2 years
NFL new game every 3-4 years
MLB - Gonna pick up the show I think, maybe wait till next year
NBA - yeah, I dont see myself buying this

thats awesome. i probably play NHL 09 the most online, but I also play Madden 09, MLB The Show 09, UFC 09, and FIFA 08 (havent upgraded that yet :/ ) online. I play others, but they're the sports ones. I've paid off like half of Fight Night Round 4, but I haven't been over to gamestop to pick it up yet. I cant wait for Madden 10, but I think I'm just as excited for NHL 10. Let me get your PSN s/n, maybe we can get something going. I'm interested in those leauges/tourneys..

btw, mine's in my sig.

I loved 07 so much, but 08 really did fix all the gameplay problems I had with it. Hopefully 10 improves manager mode and keeps the soccer realistic.

Sports games are about the only games I get right away and yearly. I need those updates stats, rosters, logos, stadiums, unis, etc. because I'm a sports geek like that.

Some people don't care about that. My roommate in college played the same NHL and MLB game for 3 years.

I'll probably end up getting both Madden 10 and FIFA 10. I haven't picked up a sports game in a long enough while, so it'll be refreshing.

Man, that's the exact reason why I don't buy them yearly. I think it would be nice of them to give us a solid game and a substantial update (free?) when the new rosters come around for the new season. Not only will it save us $60, it will give them more time to work on a newer better game that could come out every two years. The longer development cycle would definitely help with some of the bugs that crop up.

But that will never happen, which is okay.. as long as they keep the screw-ups to a minimum.

I wish EA would do updates as players are traded for 2-3 years after the game is released.

The show is awesome. It really is. Playing 'Road to the Show' as a pitcher is so sweet. Nothing like blowing a no-no in the 9th with 1 out.. like I fuckin did last week.. WTF?! I was yelling and screaming at 3 in the morning. My neighbors have to hate me.. but yeah, the game is awesome. There is a few 'bugs' but still its great and it looks amazing. You need HD. You need this game.

Hence why you have to buy the new game every year. You are basically paying to get a few new features and updated graphics...and a updated roster.

Games here are $69.99+tax, so $74. I am not paying that every year for new roasters and a few changes. Charges me $10 and give me roaster updates.

I wouldn't want roaster updates either.

But with the way they do sports games now, it's worth it. Your players get better/worse, they do trades...it's all good.

Nothing pissed me off more than to play games back a few years ago, when a team actually sucked that year, but since there were no updates, they were really good just based on the year previously.
