Try setting the camera on a desk for added stability when shooting. Also try backing up up a little bit if focus continues to be an issue and just crop the photo tight.

Eyes are very intruiging. Kerjack's are very organic-threaded like, Dataci's have that alien encroaching look. .and mine look like peeling flesh.

got my pics using my Canon Digital Rebel, with the macro setting. As Kerjack states, if you can't get it clear/won't focus, try backing off. Most cameras are high enough Megapixel anymore to crop nicely and still get a wonderful, crisp image of the eye itself. Stability is usually the only issue when doing this.

For very near/ultra-closeups. Used often for photos of insects, flowers, and by doctors for case study of Mongo's "Herp" sores.
