View Full Version : Another HALO Tournament: Thoughts, ideas, etc.?

I've wanted to do something else for a while but haven't necessarily had the free time to arrange anything. I'd like to hear if there's interest in trying something else, whether it be team-based or individualistic gametypes.
Personally, in looking back at the 1-v-1 scenario, I'd prefer not to do that again. Or if we were to do something where individual stats counted, it would be more of a free-for-all setting with the top whatever scorers advancing.
Anyway, let me know what you think - if there's enough interest, we'll give it a shot.

I don't normaly play Halo, but i do have a positive ranked k/d ratio, and I know after running COD it's hard to get players, so anyways I'll play.

i think team based might be fun since we could end up recruiting and then have teams like GMF used to do.

the problem i have with FFA is that it can be so skewed. I mean you can totally scavenge and take someone else's kill and have no skill yourself.

or how about the people that would like to play a tournament just join together for some pwnage playlist like we did in the old GMF days on Halo 2?
Just get together in a party and then go matchmaking?

Right now we've got 9 total in favor of this. I imagine if we kick this off and actually have publicized sign-ups, we could get a few more.
I think if we could get teams of size 3-4, we'd be in good shape (as long as the team members actually showed up). From previous experience, I can tell you this would be a scenario where a meeting time is set and you're either here or you're not. I cannot even begin to say how frustrating it was to wrangle people in the 1v1 tourney, and I am NOT doing that again.
So lets make a final push for this and see what happens. By the end of the week, we'll see where we stand and go from there.

I didn't intend to abandon this, it's not materialized because I've had a lot going on and haven't had the time to dedicate to it.
