My favorite restuarant (if you'd even call it that) for the past couple months are two:

1: Noodles 'N Company - I love their caesar salad with baked chicken and ranch and their noodles are good

2: Jimmy John's - Beach Club on Wheat Bread, subsitute sprouts for onions, and you've got yourself the best sandwich in history.

Well that's actually a good question..

When I get my carmel macchioto, the milk somehow ends up at the bottom and you have to stir it. I don't think it's the best drink ever, but when you drink the milk from the bottom and get carmel remants up your straw at the same time along with a sneak of coffee, it's pretty good. then you add the madelines which taste like cake and dip it into the whip cream and wow...its just great.

But, on the other hand, I wouldnt say the straight up macchioto is the best tasting drink, If I could chose my favorite coffee drink that I can drink all the time would be a carmel frappuchino, the cold, slushie like coffee drinks. White mocha frappuchino comes in a distant second.

I'll probably buy something like those when I have my own place, maybe not as fancy. The weather is good for grilling outside for most of the year around here. I really want a simple smoker too. Maybe I'll make one myself.

Here is my grill (below), Char-Broil Comercial Series. I think it was $399 when I bought it. The thing is absolutely amazing. It's quick to get hot, can cook more hamburgers at once than my house can hold people, and stays pretty even outside in shitty Texas weather. I use it 90% of the time but I also have a smoker for brisket and other things requiring heavy smoke and long cook times. Even with a gas grill you can get a cast iron smoke box that you put wood chips in and smoke your meat. I got one from Lowes for around $10 and it works great. All you do is soak your wood chips in water for 30 minutes, put them in the smoke box, and then put it on the grill while you heat it up. After 15 minutes there is more than enough smoke for steaks and pork.

I would say only 2 of those are overkill. The others are great for someone (like me) who grills most of their meals. Also a larger grill with more burners is great for when you are having people over, whether it be needing to cook alot of meat or havign to cook many things at different temps.

I just googled Zaxby's and looked at the menu. What's so special?Zaxby's is in my top 5 favorites as far as quickie items go. It's simple preparations but they're very tasty - I usually get the dipped chicken fingers and a side of fried mushrooms, either that or just the chicken finger plate (fingers, cole slaw, Texas toast and fries). Their Zax sauce may also contain the blood of virgins because it is fan-fucking-tastic. Kinda' salty, but it goes very well with the fingers.

i roasted this chicken for turkey day, i made a thyme/garlic/paprika compound butter and stuffed it under the skin, filled the inside with salt and pepper, onions and garlic. roasted it with a little chicken stock in the bottom of the pan to make a pan gravy. it was delicious as fuck.

Here's what I just ate.
http://i38.tinypic.com/14bjlw3.jpg

I put cooked steak, in a pan and covered it with cheddar chese.
You could start with raw steak but then you would have to cook it and season it and it would take forever and it doesnt really work.
You could use other cheese but cheddar is sharp and greasy.
Note the non stick pan.
http://i35.tinypic.com/2qxugd5.jpg

When it gets like this...http://i38.tinypic.com/qoys77.jpg
add peppers and onions if you like. Again, note the nonstick pan.

Then when it gets like this
http://i35.tinypic.com/a5jp0y.jpg

take it off the fire and put hot mess asside.
http://i37.tinypic.com/2n0necx.jpg

Now here's what seperates the boys from the stoners.
Take the bread and toast it in the cheese grease.
http://i34.tinypic.com/2dsjrj6.jpg

I just like this picture.
http://i34.tinypic.com/2cpp9mw.jpg

Then you stuff as much of that **** into the bun. Maybe add some more chease. If you like your veggies soggy add them before the cheese.

If you did it right, you should have a sandwich of strips of steak covered in crispy bits of burnt cheese. I am awesome.

Cinnamon Toast Crunch is great because it mixes well with most anything. Anything almost flavorless for sure (cheerios, corn flakes, frosted flakes, special K, etc) but gets real crazy with other cinnamon-like things (honey bunches of oats cinnamon edition is good). Raisin Bran + CTC is by far my favorite cereal though.

The best way to heat up a slice of pizza is on a cast iron pan.

lol.

About that oxtail. I see now how you braised them but what did you add.

Two 750-ml. bottles dry red wine (preferably Burgundy)
12 large oxtail pieces (about 6 pounds total)
1/2 stick (1/4 cup) unsalted butter
5 shallots
5 garlic cloves
2 medium carrots
2 medium leeks (white parts only)
1 medium onion
2 celery ribs
3 fresh thyme sprigs
3 bay leaves
1 bunch parsley stems
about 4 cups beef broth

Preheat oven to 325°F.

In a 4- to 6-quart heavy saucepan boil wine until reduced by about half (about 3 1/4 cups). Trim oxtails and pat dry. Season oxtails with salt and pepper. In a deep heavy ovenproof kettle just large enough to hold oxtails in one layer heat 1 tablespoon butter over moderately high heat until foam subsides and brown half of oxtails on all sides, transferring to a bowl. Brown remaining oxtails in 1 tablespoon butter in same manner and transfer to bowl. Coarsely chop shallots, garlic, carrots, leeks, onion, and celery. Add vegetables to kettle and cook in 1 tablespoon butter over moderately low heat, stirring, until softened.

Arrange oxtails over vegetables and add reduced wine, herbs, and enough broth to just cover oxtails. Bring liquid to a boil and braise oxtails, covered, in middle of oven 3 to 3 1/2 hours, or until meat is very tender but not falling off the bone. Transfer oxtails with a slotted spoon to a bowl and keep warm. Pour braising liquid through a fine sieve into a large saucepan and discard solids. Boil liquid until thick, shiny, and reduced to about 1 3/4 cups and whisk in remaining tablespoon butter.

Thanks! That was fast. A real chef can recall any recipe in his head.

I think even I can manage this one. This week for sure.

I actually got it online. It takes about an hour and a half to prep and almost 4 hours to cook. It's not like an every day thing but it turns out really nice.

you need enough arugula to even start competing w/ the other 3 very distinct flavors

I'm usually not big on arugula, but on a pizza with, say, prosciutto and a hint of pesto it's bloody spectacuar. Also, what }{ said.

no.

You people need to swing by when the missus makes her creamy crayfish tagliatelle. Mustard seeds, shallots, some vermouth... That stuff is heaven.

that pizza was fucking delicious, everything worked pretty well together, like }{ said, you need that much arugala to even start competing with the other flavors but it added an awesome texture and taste to the pie

it came from here, real nice neighborhood spot:
