That movie has so many things wrong with it that it almost becomes a work of art.



The scenes featuring two teenagers who are hassled by the cops while necking in their car were added because actress Joyce Molleur (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0597046/) broke her leg during filming, and was unable to perform her original role.
Filmed entirely with a handheld camera that could only record thirty-two seconds of film at a time. The film was shot without sound; all the lines were later dubbed by only three people - two men and one woman. The little girl who plays Debbie cried when she first heard her dubbed voice.
The real reason John Reynolds (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0721786/) (Torgo) appears to have big knees and walks funny is because his character is supposed to be a satyr. Reynolds designed his own prosthetics to make himself look like he had goat's feet. (Note how the wife gasps when she first looks down his feet, which the viewer does not get to see.)
Lighting was limited for the film; explaining the infamous scene in which two cops literally take two steps to investigate then turn back.
The only two members of the cast that were paid for their performances were Jackey Neyman (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0628664/) and the Doberman. Jackey got a bicycle and the Doberman got a bag of dog food. Every other member of the cast was to be paid by a cut of the movie's profits, which, of course, never materialized.
John Reynolds (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0721786/), who played Torgo, sustained permanent damage to his kneecaps because of the apparatus on them. He was constantly on painkillers up until his suicide, due to the injury he had from this movie. It's believed that his kneecaps were damaged due to the device being worn backwards.
Writer/director/producer Harold P. Warren (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0912849/) was a fertilizer salesman from El Paso. He made a bet with visiting location scout Stirling Silliphant (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0798103/) (later an award-winning screenwriter himself) that he could make a popular horror film on an extremely minimal budget.

The Mst3k movie Future War could be a contender. It stars a discount version of Jean Claude Van Damme, who is being pursued by dinosaurs from the future after crash landing on Earth, or something. He is accompanied by a nun who used to be a prostitute, who unites the ghetto clans to fight the dinosaurs.

It's surprisingly not as awesome as it sounds.

I thought the first half was to a T like the novel (which is excellent in my opinion) but yes the second half for sure falls into this weird sci-fi/campy horror thing. I'm such a King fan that I overlook silly flaws and still think this movie is better than a lot. I love the cast and the over all feel.

I think for a movie to truely be the "worst" of all time, it can't fall into the so bad its good variety. As horrible as movies like Kazaam and Shark Attack 3: Megalodon were, if you can watch them without laughing hysterically at them you're a better man than I.

I’m a fan of a lot of Stephen King’s work and I’ve enjoyed other works with Morgan Freeman, Thomas Jane, and Jason Lee. That’s my problem because taking all those things into consideration, I expected something great or at the very least, mindless entertainment, and I just wound up being disappointed. The original story, cast, concept, and potential of the film gave me the impression that I was going to have an enjoyable evening at home with a homemade dinner and light entertainment and the end result of what it delivered was stale crackers, and strange alien love that included giant probes of pain, dissatisfaction, and regret.

BTW Pamela Anderson suffered a miscarriage during filming of the movie. So it was so bad that the baby killed itself during production. It probably was a Butterfly Effect death.

Well, there are two types of terrible movies--ones somebody personally hates, and the ones that are really the worst ever made, from a technical standpoint.

Even if Transformers is fucking terrible, it still works as a movie. Where as a "movie" like Manos just feels like something a small group of people shot in their garage over a weekend and then released in theaters (for a short ammount of time, but it still made it to theaters.)

Well my dad was a sucker for all of those too, so naturally, I watched them with him. I saw every fighting/Chuck Norris/Van Damme/Karate/Crappy Action flick from 1986-1994. No really, all of them...and if we forgot if we saw it or not, I saw them twice.

As far as dialogue... you are right... "BUMBLEBEE QUIT LUBRICATING THE MAN" is crap dialogue... however the characterizations are sound, and Shia's character was sufficient enough to enhance the storyline... It is a movie you can sit and watch for entertainment..
