raven is a semi-local brew (i think it's from maryland), the other one is belgian, same big alc content as the german. never had a red from lagunitas but i like all of their other stuff so far so i figured what the hell. you're spot on ab the aventinus. a little too sweet but a good hit nonetheless... and smooth

Don Scrappy

I've had it a couple times on tap, its amazing, way better than out of the bottle. First time was at a dogfish head dinner, also had Theobroma, Pangea, Raison d'Extre and something else. The bar I always go to for good beer is having a Lost Abbey dinner tonight, but I don't drink it enough to justify the $60.

I haven't tasted every beer brewed in my state, but the best bottled NC beer I've had is probably from the brewery up the street from my office. Duck-Rabbit Milk Stout is a seriously smooth, delicious beer. They probably have limited distribution, but, if you ever get a chance, pick some up.

Enjoying some IPA from MA. Just took my first sip and I like. A good crisp flavor with a great after taste. Really light body which I like because that means you can drink more and not be full by the third one. I think I can put this brewery on the list to tour before I die. Thanks to Soitgoes for recommending it.

one of the things i really like about it is that I can pretty much drink it all night. Its got enough flavor that's not boring but light enough to drink 8-12 pints.

that said, I had the opportunity to sample some boundary bay ipa today per white rhino's recommendation:

other recs would be:

tangletown in the udistrict/greenlake area.
brouwers in fremont
prost in phinney (all german beers, but some really random strong shit)
big time in the udistrict (best seattle brewery by far. blah food though.)
pike brewery in pike place market (meh brews but they are getting better since the original ownership purchased them back about a year ago)
elliott bay brewery in the alki area (kick ass ipa and pale)

not much on cap hill or madison for killer brew selection. sorry.

I just accumulated all of our bottle caps into a sparklett's bottle that we have collected for less than 2 years, we are at about 2 gallons. I am satisfied considering we throw away about 5% of our caps and drinks more but light cans and other shit more often than not.

Fun fact. finding the rarest cap is actually fairly amusing for 3am.

Also the cap says on and off with arrows, but they point in the wrong direction.

The guy who brought it said Chinese rice wine. There is no way it was any kind of wine, we did it in shots. It was 52% and smelt like paint thinner.

I found this

Daqu jiu (大麴酒; pinyin: dà qū jiǔ): Originally from Sichuan with 300 years of history. This wine is made with sorghum and wheat and is fermented for a long time. Alcohol content by volume: 52%.
