Its sad to say I know, but I'm still playing BF2. I've tried half the shooters out there now: COD4, FFOW and TF2 to name a few and all still don't have the playability of BF2. Thoughts? Dazmg is my user name, should anyone feel like a game?

I haven't played that in a long time. Great game though, but I've moved on.

Wish they'd make an updated FPS with jets and helicopters...

Moved on to what though, as I still haven't played anything I enjoy as much?

Same.

I am always up for a game. Do you have XFire?

man its been awhile. I'll have to see if I can get back into it. I tried it the other day and I just kept getting killed by fucking bunny hoppers so i quit.

I bought BF2 quite a while back and got pretty heavily addicted to it and was playing in a clan. Seek and destroy choppers, land minitanks and the maps were great, good graphics. Squads, commanders, artillery. I loved it. I think I might even like it better than CoD4.

I loved COD4, but I was bored after a month. The graphics, guns etc are great, but the maps are just to small and theirs no squad play. With BF2 I've pretty much moved to infantry only. I got so sick of having bombs drop on my head and be unable to do a damn thing about it.

Well, I'm playing Crysis now. Great fucking game. The maps are huge, gives the game a sandbox feel almost.

I tried Crysis and for the most part a really good game, but such a hog for the juice. I have a quad core and 8800GTX and I was still only getting about 45 fps. I have to say I never tried the multi-player, as I heard very poor reviews?

Heh, I played BF2 for a few months on release under the somewhat embarrassing moniker of "joanie_loves_chaci", oh the heady days of youth (i.e. 2 years ago).

I'd join in for a game but I've just got a new lappy and I've left the install disc at home whilst I'm at uni.

I hate vehicles. I much rather play as just infantry. If I ever do get in something its either to get somewhere faster of to man an MG on something that somebody else is already driving.

I can't get past the lack of realism...

I played BF2 for months, and it's a good game, but there are a lot of better FPS games out there that incorporate a lot more realism (i.e. weapon recoil, accuracy...don't get me started).

Any of you guys try DoD:S? It's a throwback to WWII, but plays extremely well.

Are you kidding me? DoD:S realistic? lolololol.......guns that kick up 10 feet after you fire 1 bullet? Maybe if you're a 10 year old girl that would happen. DoD sucks.

The point I was making is that in BF2 you can hose a full mag and not have to fight recoil, which irl is next to impossible.

I'd rather play a game where firing accurately requires a glimmer of skill (and not have to worry about getting bombed by some whore in a fucking jet).

A jet is part of the game, plus they have no vehicle maps now. I think you just dont like it because you're not good at it.

That I'm not great with a jet might be part of my dislike, but then again I never put the time in to get better with them. I just didn't enjoy it and their is always such a wait to get in one. I would rather spend the time shooting people.
The the guns do have recoil, just not a lot (depending on the gun) and pwnage still takes skill. And if you can't agree, chances are you need more practice until you do?

It does take practive even if you're infantry but thats the beauty of the game. The only thing is that I dont think I have seen another game where people bunny hop so much.

I got to the point where I'd have a minimum of a 3:1 kdr on about every map as infantry, even with the jets and heli whores. I haven't played it in at least 2 years though, as I've moved on to cod4 and a bunch of other shit since. I used to play on a server that ran, if I recall correctly, the "Frontline Weapons" mod, which seemed to even the playing field for infantry vs. vehicles.

The point I was making about weapon recoil is not that the weapons don't have any, but that they don't have enough.
