Cartman eating his underwear to try to call off the fight with Wendy, taking a shit on Garrison's desk to avoid the fight afterschool and get detention, and getting his ass kicked were the only funny moments. the rest of the episode was meh -- not better than the season premiere.

It was okay but better than last week's premier. It was cool to see another episode centered around Cartman but I missed that it wasn't poking fun at something in society. It seemed like an episode from the first couple of seasons: not commenting on anything in particular and involved Wendy and Stan's relationship. I hope Matt and Trey haven't lost their touch and hopefully the other ones will be better. Personally I hope they have another Butter's episode.

I'll admit it did make me chuckle Butters wanted to see Wendy kick Cartman's ass at first, but then reverted back to Eric's side after Wendy "pussied" out of the fight after Cartman told his mom to confront her parents.
the principal calling Wendy in was also amusing.

Eh? Whenever they make a social commentary episode, forum-goers bitch that they're being "preachy" (which is ironic, considering how preachy message boards are), and when they go back to making episodes about the kids and their relationships, people want more social/political commentary.

In the US (I guess just the US?) it's Breast Cancer Awareness Week, so it seems this episode was dedicated to that, combined with the references to 3 O'Clock High and whatnot.

Chances are they had two episodes done and just needed to throw in a few quips here and there. I remember an interview with them a couple years back where they stated they could animate an entire show within 48 hours. It's all done in house if I remember correctly. So far its ok. I really do not know what the Jonas Brothers are about. I have never watched or heard anything they have done so I am missing out on most of the humor I guess.

I'm sad that the Jonas Brothers didn't do anything outrageous or extreme. (Maybe turn into crab people? Win Douche of the Universe contest?) Actually, this episode was sort of not shocking or crazy at all....minus the part where they shoot their white foam on little girls. I laughed at that.

the best part was when mr slave was touching himself during the concert!

I'm going to have to say the best part is all the Mickey Mouse parts, I think they were spot on with their depiction of Disney.

There is a reason I have never seen the crap they do. I just meant I am not getting a lot of the Jonas Bros jokes because of it.

This episode just didn't do it for me, maybe because I know nothing about the source material. I felt the same way about the High School Musical episode, but at least I had a vague idea of what that was about.

I'm not a fan of Disney, but this episode brought up a good point. They do help young girls grow into bigger sluts

I laughed at all of the Mickey scenes. I got all the Jonas Brother's jokes cause a couple of the douches are from here so they show them on the local News all the time. Shit makes me want to punch the lil whore girls, then rape them.

i thought it was a really weak episode compared to last weeks. also how the hell did they get the rights to use the dark knight music?
See, I'm the opposite. I thought last week sucked as do most of the episodes where they try to tie it in with news/current events/current fads, where as the parody or free standing idea episodes are gold.

I think it's because they usually express beliefs and ideas that I can relate/subscribe to. South Park is the closest thing to representative for some of us that don't want to suck Jon Stewart's cock.

That was one of the funniest references I've ever seen on this show. Almost as good as the "C" on the ****'s shirt, which is ripped from the Cure's "Wish" album.
By the way, I love waiting for these so I can watch them on South Park Studios... the cuss words aren't bleeped.

Yeah it was. These few really have been great. Mickey's "Hoo hoo"s in totally inappropriate places were great, the Credit Jesus bit was great, lulz.

The only way to get the economy going again is to buy things, so in that respect, Kyle was correct. However, excessive spending -- on houses, cars, Margarittaville blenders (w/ or w/o salsa spout) -- is what ultimately led to the financial crash. That is, if no one had defaulted on the loans due to overspending, there would have been no bank crashes.
As usual, South Park has been able to skewer all sides and show that there is no one cause, but many, interrelated causes. I harken back to the Wal-Mart episode where they showed that Wal-Mart was destroying small businesses. But they also showed that the reason the small businesses were dying is because people wanted to buy things cheaper, which is what Wal-Mart offered. That is, the people couldn't have it both ways: They either had to give up small businesses, or be willing to pay more to maintain the small businesses.
Here, it was the same thing. Many causes and everyone played a part in the financial meltdown and economy taking a nosedive.
Too serious? Okay, the funniest part was Cartman blaming the Jews for stealing all the money and hiding it in their Jew Cave. And the squirrel-throwing part, as you can see from my sig.

Do you think the idea of economics should be talked about like philosophy? Because it seemed to me like it was a new approach to the conversation about what our economy really is.
But was the financial crash really due to overspending or giving people the credit they didn't deserve?
