Yeah, it's too bad my PC would melt if I tried to run this. I'll have to settle for the console version where I can (hopefully) rely on a decent framerate and suitable graphics.

I saw an onstage demo of this yesterday at PAX. The gameplay was pretty standard FPS stuff, but then the guy showed off easily the most impressive level editor I have ever seen, puts anything else to shame.

open ended game, you have the choice of playing as like five different people. Your choices effect the entire game. If you have a buddy AI helping you out and he dies that's it all help and missions that were gonna come from him disappear.

That's all I remember.

pre-order from gamestop/amazon and get additional content... my brother wants this for his bday, so i'm pickin' him up a copy on the first day (consequently his b-day)

Okay, this is the second game I've seen to use this copy protection. The game states on the back of the box, "This Video game is protected by digital rights management software which installs additional components required for copy protection on the user's computer and limits the number of installations of the game."

I believe this is a horrible method of copy protection as I'm always messing around with my computer and fear that I'll surpass the allowed installations and have myself a useless disc laying around before long.

I agree it is a crappy idea but maybe it will allow you to 'deactivate' some installations so you can reinstall? Kind of like how Spore has been amended to do.

thus far it's okay. I haven't played a long ways into it and I don't personally like the "GTA IV" feel that it's got as far as missions are concerned. However I'm assuming this is more of an "in-game tutorial" than anything and hope that it'll change for the better as I progress. Graphically it's very pretty although thus far I dont' see anything over Crysis which i still see as about the most beautiful game I've played.

Which in fact I find funny, that they state that this game's been optimized and doesn't require the PC that Crysis does however Crysis requires/recommends a Vista rating of 3.0/5.0 respectively, while FC2 requires/recommends 4.0/5.5 respectively.

As it stands I currently think Crysis and Call of Duty 4 are much more enjoyable overall, but I'll post more about the value of this game as I play more. Currently it is definitely worth the $3.07 it cost me over my extra copy of Halo 3 and Endless Ocean trade-ins w/ the bonuses I got at the time as well.


I agree it is a crappy idea but maybe it will allow you to 'deactivate' some installations so you can reinstall? Kind of like how Spore has been amended to do.

What is your opinion about this game ? It looks cool. All this Afrika stuff looks fresh after Jungles of Crysis and FarCry(first) don't you think ?

I just got the game today. Once you get past the tutorial part it gets better. But as others have said, there is a lot of driving which makes the time between action a bit much. If you use the buses it really cuts down on that though.

I really like the game play, and the AI is great (from what I have seen).

I would say the only downfall this game has is the traveling, but that may go down a bit once I get further and have more missions and what not.

I would give it a solid 8/10 so far.

Well after playing a bit more I have ot change my opinion. While it was all fun at first the game got very repetitive. I was doing the exact same thing all the time. It looked great, played great, but was just boring. Which really disappoints me, I was looking forward to this game for along time.

I ended up putting it back in the box and resealing it and returning it. I picked up Resistance 2. Seems like it will be a more fun game overall, plus 60 person multi player looks awesome.

Great looking game that falls FAR short of its potential. Its like they spent all their time on graphics and let the janitor finish the gameplay/storyline. Returned it for CoD5

Oh yeah, i forgot that Far Cry 2 came out for PS3. Well then do yourself a favor and get a 360.

There is nothing that could ever make me get a 360. Not one single thing. The very few exclusives it has arent any pull for me. All of the pluses for PS3 are defiantly big for me.

Its funny my buddy who got a 360 about 2 years ago now says he wishes he had waited a year and got a PS3.

How is that possible? They have great exlusive racers like Forza, shooters like Halo and Gears and they get titles before PS3. On top of that it has xbox live arcade with a ton of fun games and the online support is better than anything Sony offers.
What pluses are you talking about besides the blu-ray and the wifi?

Forza, I have Gran Turismo
Halo, was never a big fan
Gears, I have Resistance

I don't buy games when they first come out anyways, so what do I care if Xbox gets a game a week before?? And how often does that happen anyways??

BTW the PS3 exclusives are rated higher then the 360.

As for online play, I don't do it that often, but when I do I have never once had a problem having a game be full.

Extras?? Wireless out of the box, wifi out of the box, blue ray, not having to buy tons of extras just to be equal to another system, Not paying an extra $50 per year to play online, better hardware with more room left for advancement in games, up coming 3D and I am sure there are others.

Again there is nothing I like about 360. The only game I wish we had was Left 4 dead, but that will come to PS3 eventually.

360 may be great for you but it isn't my cup of tea.

to me
360 = kids system
PS3 = more mature system

again that is just my point of view.
