aight, being as cs:s has now officially become a part of clan gmf i'm curious... what kinds of games do you guys like? just straight-up raw counter-strike, gungame, zombie mod, etc.?

I kinda like the WoW mod because when I finally gain enough powers I actually do good. Plus I dont feel like a nerd playing something that has World of Warcraft in the game title. But I'm down for original.

gun game's cool in that you don't ever need to buy a weapon. every player starts off with the same gun and progresses through the same ladder of weapons. with each kill you move up a weapon. for example, most servers that run gun game operate like this:
start with: awp
1st kill: machine gun
2nd kill: m4a1
3rd kill: p90
etc. etc.
it's a very good way to build up a well-rounded skill set with various guns. :) and you usually INSTANTLY respawn.

indeed. you will respawn with the weapon you had last... the weapons get harder as you go, of course. one of the last weapons you have are the pistols, then the knife, then the grenade. he who makes the first kill with the hardest weapon (the 'nade) wins the round and triggers either a restart or a map cycle.

i had fun despite my xfire being retarded with the chat shortcut in game (who the fuck uses scroll lock anyways), and the fact that i was failing worse than britney spears's dietary physician at an all-you-can-eat buffet. *sigh* good times.

It's frustrating if you haven't played in a while or have never played, because you'll get you ass handed to you, but once you get a few kills and start getting into the game, it gets fun. I usually have a few beers while I play.

You know you can change it where you dont have to use scroll lock.
It's frustrating if you haven't played in a while or have never played, because you'll get you ass handed to you, but once you get a few kills and start getting into the game, it gets fun. I usually have a few beers while I play.
Its so true. I remember the first time I played and I get so pissed off. I could never figure out the recoil system. I still havent really. It seems like bullets fly where the fuck they want.

honestly i never gave much thought to there being a pattern to the recoil. i suppose i should have payed more attention... been playing since the pre-sierra beta days.

well its just in other games you can kinda figure out where the recoil is going to go thus making a better shot after the first one but with CS who the fuck knows.

I've been playing since CS 1.3.....I'm best at 1.6 but trying to get better at source. I've won about $5,000 in tournament earnings playing CS since I started.

I'll play the mod games occasionally, but I just love CS as a pure shooter. No unlocks, no crazy stuff, just raw FPS. I play TF2 for fun FPS action, CS for serious, so I rarely play the 'games'.

it's nice to do something mindless after a couple of hours of dust/dust2/etc. some of those servers tend to get fucking intense, especially when you find the servers with the big boys playing on them. shit, at that point it's just a struggle to get out of spawn let alone get a kill. and dare to go head-to-head with one of those guys as the opposing sniper... you'll see shit that just doesn't seem natural, yet it's simple technique that they've perfected from many thousands of hours more playing time than any of us.
so yeah... every couple of hours i like to go stand on a crate and blast away at a few zombies, or go improve my usage of all weapons with gun game.
otherwise i become so flustered i swear i squeeze my mouse hard enough to internally fuck something up on it. and i dislike going to other servers because then they're too easy or they don't have admins/anti-cheats.
