Yeah it's pretty lame so far...Paquin is looking pretty good though, that will bring me back at least next week.
She's not at the stage in her career where she gets naked, though? I know it's HBO and all, but she's still clothed?

True Blood is an HBO show about the co-existence of vampires and humans in a small Louisiana town after Japanese-made synthetic blood – "TruBlood" – becomes available for purchase. Anna Paquin stars as Sookie Stackhouse, a telepathic waitress at a diner who falls in love with one of the vampires, Bill Compton.

Sure did, found it to be a very weird show....had a lot of random elements. Not bad for a pilot. Definitely going to check it out next episode.

I don't know what to think yet, but so far the acting has been horrible. maybe it will get better, and it could be everyone getting the feel of the show in the pilot. I think the director is dropping turds so far too. I'm watching one more and if it sucks too, I'm done.

That's what I thought when I saw the pilot some months ago. Great concept, meh casting, awfull acting. But it's Alan Ball, so I'll give it another chance, the guy who gave us American Beauty and SFU (one of my all time fav show and probably the best ending ever to a tv show) can't just suddenly make a turd. Can he?

I kinda did, too, a la Tarantino serie Z movies. Still, it's a TV show, not a movie. It's ok for a couple hours, but on the long run? No thanks.

the ending to SFU was rather predictable....but very well execute. the pilot, on the other hand, is the best in television history, hands down, no contest. i've watched that episode at least 10 times and it never gets old.
speaking of SFU....i like "david" as david better than i like him as dexter. lulz. he makes an awesome faggot.

I liked the pilot and I'm looking forward to the next one. I always loved Anna, but I wish she would get those teeth fixed. Damn Lauren Hutton for mainstreaming the gap.

I watched only the first show I had a free HBO weekend as premium cable is too rich for my non vampiric blood right now, but I intend on watching when the whole season is available. I'm not sure it would be picked up for a second season. I love all things Vampire so I am excited.

Dude, it's not like they treated the subject with a lot of subtlety since the start of the serie....The only thing that bothers me is, who the fuck is the dog? Because we pretty much knew (or at least assume) that Sam was a lycan or a shifter since a while, but we also saw Sam and the dog together.

Yeh pretty interesting show. I saw were someone had posted the black chics acting was bad. I think that was the first thing that popped in my head on the first episode.
So... anybody know what the deal is with MaryAnn - the chick who was naked in the street with the big pig that caused Tara to crash, and then she took Tara in to her lovely home... She's some kind of creature of the netherworld... Guess we'll have to wait 6 months to find out.
