I had to go with Sisko although as it was mentioned before he wasn't really a "Captain". Until I get back to Deep Space 9, Enterprise is currently my favorite SERIES of Star Trek. (going through watching every episode of every series now. Still in ST-TOS.)

I’ve never seen Deep Space Nine but I am a fan of Avery Brooks. He was quite good as a pimp/gangster/hitman. A pimp star trek captain. Brilliant!

Sisko was promoted to Captain like three years into the show so he totally deserves to be on the list.

A case can be made for almost all of them to be the best (even Janeway, but not Archer), but after Kirk, no one was a badass anymore. Starting with TNG, the PC-bullshit going on in ST was terrible, insufferable at times.
