Is there any reason why Palin hasn't released her medical records yet? What would prevent her from doing so?

They actually just did yesterday: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/11/04/us/politics/04medical.html?_r=1&ref=politics&oref=login
She's apparently healthy, so who knows why she didn't want to release it. Afraid of gotchas, I suppose?

Your definition of intelligent conversation is someone regurgitating the more retarded talking points of that hillbilly Palin cunt.
Okay, Obama is a communist socialist terrorist Muslim fundamentalist (with a racist Christian pastor) who hates America and wants to tax unborn little babies.
There, you got what you wanted. GTFO.
Dude, you need to step back and take a look at yourself. You have the capacity to argue points, and you still resort to talking points. Ones that arent even politically on your side. And I know your general disgust for all things American other than Basketball, and nike sneakers, certainly clouds your ability to have a rational debate, and talk about issues. You have done nothing during these elections, but spout media talking points about how bad American is, how dumb Americans are, and how they just dont "understand" how much better Europe is. You are a hypocrite, but even worse, you dont even have a reason to discuss these topics either way, because YOU DONT GET TO VOTE.

Seriously? Come on. McCain is not the man that ran for office in 2000. Somewhere among the bullshit, evil McCain came out. The old McCain was a fair and balanced individual who fought for the small guy. And calling Palin a bad choice, I dare you to find someone besides Yelram & Claydon to agree with that. McCain of old could have done what Clinton did and unified the parties. He can't do that anymore because he went against his own principles. What this RC jackass wrote about was impending doom because of Obama.
Riiiight, so back when you were a 10 year old, you were paying attention to Mccains character? And I'm sure you were also paying close attention to Obama in the Illinois state legislature right?

They really should make releasing medical records mandatory like taking a drug test. Biden also dragged his feet on this and I think Obama and McCain did to lesser extents.

To be fair, this was released at the last minute (she promised Brian Williams she would do it about a week ago) and obviously buried under every other election news story out there. Certainly not Palin's finest moment in a collection of many very unfine moments.

SWEET! disclosure for about 12 hrs of the campaign!
If the LA Times doesn't have to disclose everything it has on Obama, why the hell should Palin have to disclose anything about her health, of all things ... she has already been criticized for her family, her rise to her position within the republican party, and her restriction by the mccain campaign within the media ... none of which, i personally feel, matter near as much as disclosing the personal relationships of obama has with notorious racists and terrorists

Pretty amazing you can be incredulous about this. McCain's transformation has been pretty widely reported and witnessed and it's especially evident since he had built such a strong political brand.

Let's hear about these sea changes you speak of. All politicians change but it's a big stretch to say Obama's a much different politician than he was 2 years ago. Are you too stupid to know the difference between information, and records? The doctor saying he's in "excellent health" and listing his blood pressure and triglycerides is not the same thing as medical records you tool. But apparently thats all Palin released as well. I am very much against a doctor's note being taken as the same as the release of medical records.
well i thought it was very stupid that he criticized Palin before knowing the facts, but then turned around and mocked Yelram for doing the exact same thing

Here is an interesting time table for those who are curious on what they should be looking for as indicators...
Election Guide: Keep early eye on Ga., Va., Ind.
WASHINGTON – Election watchers won't have to wait for polls to close in the West to know how things are going. The first clues will come early, when voting ends in Georgia, Indiana and Virginia. If Democrat Barack Obama wins any of the three, he could be on his way to a big victory, maybe even a landslide.
If Republican John McCain sweeps them, he could be headed for a comeback. And if any of these three are too close to call quickly, that could indicate a long night ahead — and, perhaps, a squeaker of a result.
President Bush comfortably won the trio four years ago. But Obama has used his financial muscle and his draw as the youthful first black Democratic nominee to put them, and other historically reliable Republican states, into play.
Thus, the Democrat has several routes he can take to reach the 270 Electoral College votes needed for victory. McCain's strategy has no room for error; he must win nearly all the states that went to Bush in 2004, and possibly even one or two that voted for Democrat John Kerry that year.
Here's a timetable for armchair election watchers, all given in Eastern Standard Time:
• 7 p.m.: The last polls close in Georgia, Indiana and Virginia, new battlegrounds this year offering a combined 39 votes, as well as in Kentucky and South Carolina, GOP country and 16 votes McCain should easily win, and Vermont, three, a sure thing for Obama.
• 7:30 p.m.: Ohio and North Carolina, both are critical for McCain.
Ohio is a perennial swing state that no Republican has ever lost on his way to the presidency. Bush captured the state twice, and a loss would be difficult, if not impossible, for McCain to weather. He has few options to make up the 20 electoral votes elsewhere, while Obama probably could sustain a defeat here and look for wins in other GOP states where polls show him running stronger.
North Carolina, with 15 votes, is another GOP state that Obama targeted for a pickup from the start of the general election and one where he is working to get blacks and young adults to turn out for him in droves. He also made a late play for West Virginia's five votes. Both are less likely than others to flip; McCain losing either would be disastrous.
• 8 p.m.: Final voting ends in some 15 states and Washington, D.C.
For Obama, the biggest prizes among them are Florida and its 27 votes and 11-vote Missouri, a bellwether for decades. Both went for Bush, and while Obama can afford to lose both, McCain can't.
Should the Republican stumble in those states or others, he hopes to make up any deficit in Pennsylvania, which offers 21 votes and hasn't voted for a Republican since 1988. A loss here could be the death knell for McCain's chances; it's the only Kerry-won state where he and the Republican National Committee are fiercely competing.
Among other Kerry states, McCain hopes New Hampshire and its independent streak will come through for him again; the state, which has four electoral votes, made him in his 2000 presidential primary and saved him eight years later, setting him on course to win the GOP nomination. McCain also has been gunning for a single electoral vote in Maine, one of two states that award them by congressional districts.
In this election-night hour, the Republican will almost certainly rack up 33 quick votes with wins in Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma and Tennessee, while Obama banks 47 from Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey and the nation's capital and 24 more from his home state of Illinois and that of running mate Joe Biden, Delaware.
• 8:30 p.m.: Arkansas should be called for McCain shortly after its polls close. It has six votes.
• 9 p.m.: Another big wave of states closing. The ones to watch are hotly contested Bush states Colorado and New Mexico, where Obama hopes Democratic-leaning Hispanics will lift him to victory. McCain could withstand losing the 14 votes these two offer — as long as he wins just about everywhere else he's competing.
It's also worth keeping an eye on the typically reliable Republican territory of North Dakota and South Dakota. Obama has competed in the former, and there may be overlap effect in the latter. They each offer there votes. Obama is also pushing for one vote in a Nebraska congressional district.
Arizona, McCain's home state, may be another key indicator of which way the election will play out. If McCain loses that state, it's all but certain his presidential dreams are over. Some surveys show the race there having tightened.
The Republican can essentially guarantee victories worth 52 votes in Kansas, Louisiana, Texas and Wyoming, while Obama is virtually certain to collect 72 votes from Michigan, Minnesota, New York, Rhode Island and Wisconsin.
• 10 p.m.: Voting ends in GOP-held, Iowa, Montana and Nevada, a combined 15 votes. Losing these would be a setback for McCain, while winning them would be a boon for Obama. Utah's five votes are a certainty for McCain.
• 11 p.m.: Four states — mega-prize California, Hawaii, Oregon and Washington — are expected to quickly give Obama a combined 77 votes, while Idaho is expected to award its four votes to McCain.
• 1 a.m.: Capping off the night is Alaska, where GOP vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is governor. The Republican ticket is a shoo-in for those three votes.
And then it's over. Or not. As the past two elections showed, there's no certainty. If it's a contest at all, the victor may not be declared until Wednesday's wee hours. Or later.

Obama supporters targeted in bogus messages (http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2008/11/04/obama-supporters-targeted-in-bogus-messages/)
Posted: 05:06 PM ET
(CNN) — Voters in several states have receiving bogus text messages or e-mail urging supporters of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama to put off voting until Wednesday because of long lines, spurring threats of prosecution in at least two states.
The messages — a perennial election stunt — popped up Tuesday on mobile phones and computers in the battleground states of Florida, Virginia and Missouri, as well as in several other states. One falsely claimed to be a "CNN breaking news" alert.
"All Obama voters, due to long delays, are asked to wait and vote tomorrow 11/05," that message stated.
Election Day is a one-day event, of course — and in a statement issued Tuesday, Missouri Secretary of State Robin Carnahan said she had "no tolerance" for anyone attempting to confuse voters.
"I am working with local election officials around the state to make sure poll workers and voters understand their rights," said Carnahan, a Democrat.
"Anyone attempting to deprive voters of their rights on Election Day will be prosecuted."
In Maryland, a spokeswoman for Attorney General Douglas Gansler said his office had passed along complaints about the messages to the U.S. Justice Department and state prosecutors.
Similar messages were reported in Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Maryland and Arkansas.
In Virginia, hackers breached the computer network at George Mason University to send the message, university Provost Peter Stearns told students, faculty and staff in an e-mail denouncing the hoax.
"I am sure everybody realizes this is a hoax," he said. "It is also a serious offense, and we are looking into it. Please be reminded that Election Day is today, November 4th."
A flyer with a similar message was spread around the Hampton Roads area of southeast Virginia last week. Virginia State Police said Monday that they would not bring charges against the man who printed them, and state Board of
Elections Secretary Nancy Rodriguez called the flyers "a joke that got out of control."

Wow when I said you were an idiot before, i should have said a fucking moron. This topic has been beat to death but w/e a quick response wont hurt. You assume that 100% of the black people that are voting are doing so only because obama is black. Why again? Because a few people that have been interviewed have said so? With that genius reasoning 100% of the white people vote for mccain because hes white right? We have certainly seen interviews of white people that have said that... Do you have some secret poll that asks every single newly registered Black person who they voted for?

So you found a clip of a not absolutely brilliant person who is getting a bit carried away in what they say at what is for them an exciting moment. Even so....does anyone think these people are saying Obama is going to give them free gas and mortgage....c'mon. Or is she just getting a little carried away that the candidate who seems to care somewhat about their position is going to get elected.
I'm sure for every dumb video of an excited democrat two can be found of equally dumb and racist whites.
For humorous example:
<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/TiKANhznPlI&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/TiKANhznPlI&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Yeah, I hate everything American. That's why I still miss living in Chicago, 'cause I hated everything about it. That's why I'm a member of the German Atlantic Council, because I hate America.
I like America, or used to. That's the bloody point: 8 years of greed, incompetence and general jackassery running your country has left me disillusioned. I hate what Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Wolfowitz, Ashcroft, Gonzales have done to your country. The underlying spirit, I love and respect.

Don't worry about early numbers from PA. Last two times Specter was running for re-election in the Senate the Early numbers had him down by huge amounts, but by the time the final tallys were given, he won by a solid margin.
Not saying McCain is a lock for Pa, but the Philly area numbers seem to be tallied early and it makes up a lot of the total votes.

NEW YORK (CNN) — John McCain's presidential campaign is making an 11th hour appeal to Cuban Americans in Florida with a robo-call that says Barack Obama would pursue "political policies like those of Cuba."
The automated Spanish-language telephone calls began late this afternoon into Cuban households, particularly in and around the southern part of the state, and quote a Reuters story that says former Cuban leader Fidel Castro prefers Obama win the presidency.
McCain and Obama are in a fierce battle for Florida's 27 electoral votes.
Translated script:
Urgent: I am calling on behalf of John McCain to tell you that today at 1:28 this afternoon the independent news organization of Reuters reported that the Cuban dictator, Fidel Castro, has given his support to Democrat Barack Obama for being smarter and more sophisticated than John McCain. Just like Hugo Chavez, Daniel Ortega, and Evo Morales - the brothers of Castro prefer Barack Obama. Don't give Castro what he wants. Go vote right now for John McCain and avoid establishing in the United States political policies like those of Cuba. There are only a few hours left today to vote for John McCain. This call has been paid for by McCain/Palin 2008.

No, i understand that some of the problems we have now are because of Clinton. I know if he didn't change some of the regulations we had, we might not be in the dire situation we are in as a country in terms of our economy. But, the out of control spending comes from Yes men. When you go from a surplus to a record amount deficit, spending had to be agreed upon. And then there is Iraq, and well you can figure that out on your own. What a president does never effects only the time he spent in office, but it can effect the outcome of humanity. For all we know the war in Iraq could bring in an age of peace like we have never seen, or the more probable, cause millions of death due to continued and worsened stability in the region. I want it to go until about one in the morning. I'm not an idiot that wants some sort of "mandate". Fuck a mandate, and fuck a supermajority. Total control is too much control. Best case? Obama wins with around 290 electoral votes. The Democrats retain control of the Senate with around 55 seats, but lose some key races. Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid are excused from their duties as congressional heads, and replaced by people who aren't fucking partisan idiots. John Paul Stevens retires from the Supreme Court and is replaced in six months by a moderate left-leaner. That's a swing left, but not too far left.

EVEN if McCain manages the upset, he will have to deal with a House of anywhere between 240-255 Dems, and a Senate consisting of approx. 57-60 Dems (including the two indys who will caucus with the Dems).
Tonight will be a huge win regardless of the Presidential Election for the Democratic Party, and a huge loss for the GOP. Decidely though, it would be a triumphant win for Democrats if Obama wins, and a deflated but decisive win should McCain win.
These are the facts. They are undeniable. It isn't which party will win or lose overall tonight, it will be a question of how much the Democrats will win, and how much the GOP will lose. This may be the only time in history I may say this, but thank you George W. Bush. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, for doing as much as you could in the past 8 years to ensure a massive Democratic victory tonight.

Tell me something great that george bush did, that really made some kind of positive difference and i won't think the both of you are complete douche bags.
You know his biggest expenditure? Adding a perscription drug benefit to Medicare. More than Iraq, more than the tax cuts. And while on the subject of the tax cuts. What is wrong with them, show me a fairer way to cut taxes evenly across the board. He removed the death tax, and the marriage penalty, increased the earned income tax credit for children, and gave alot of specialized tax breaks for small business (specifically the purchase of fleet vehicles.) And even dropped an entire tax bracket off the bottom. People who were paying taxes before, and after the tax cuts, didnt have to. That is not tax cuts for the rich. If you were a really deceptive person, you could convince people who are unaware of that, to believe Bush "CUT TAXES FOR THE RICH!!". I also dont understand the problem with giving tax cuts to oil companies. You want to encourage energy companies to develop infrastructure, so that the costs of fuel stay low. Oftentimes, the capital for the production of different aspects of fuel production, like refineries, could be entirely funded by the oil company, if only the government would ALLOW THEM TO. I want to know, at what point do I get to say "Hey, Obama didnt do Jackshit of what he said he would"? Will you suck it up and admit it if he starts to shit the bed?
