Because in statistical theory, if you have an adequate and well-balanced sample from the population, you can make accurate hypotheses on the entire population. The problem is that the statistics aren't usually adequate or well-balanced AT ALL, but the networks will go ahead and do the statistical calculations anyway.

I've watched pretty much all of this election coverage on Fox News. But tonight on the actual election i've been watching the BBC and Sky News.

Why?

Most people I know voted for Obama. Of course they were in 2 camps. 1 voted for him because he was black. The other camp voted for him because they did not want McCain in office. None could answer questions about either candidate.
