Go buy them off the KU athletics website like the rest of the Mizzou fans. We welcome your money. All the missouri fans are afraid there won't be tickets available when MU's portion goes public so they are trying to buy KU's.

No. 1 Georgia loses tackle Sturdivant to knee injury
ESPN.com news services
Preseason No. 1 Georgia has already suffered a loss.
The Bulldogs announced on Tuesday that left tackle Trinton Sturdivant needs reconstructive surgery on his injured left knee and will be out for the season.
On Monday, Sturdivant went down with a knee injury in the team's first scrimmage of the season in Athens, Ga.
"It swelled up pretty good, and we're taking the pictures so we'll see," coach Mark Richt said Monday night, according to the school. "It's just sad to see a guy get hurt."
The sophomore started all 13 games at left tackle left season and earned freshman All-America and freshman All-SEC honors.
Sophomore Josh Davis replaced Sturdivant for the remainder of practice.

SEC is great no doubt about it, but Big Ten can hold its own. I've only not enjoyed going to a MSU game once, and that was just because it was the most depressing loss ever to Notre Dame I think 2 years ago.

Are you one of those delusional Nebraska fans that thinks Bo is gonna be your savior and take you back to the national spotlight in his first year? Do you still reference the blackshirts?
Do you really think Nebraska is going to stop Missouri? I'm a KU fan and hate Mizzou, but have no problem admitting they are a very good team. Nebraska might have a great home field advantage, but they don't have the tools/experience to compete imo.

I AM one of those fan who has totally bought into Bo. We had the 116th ranked D last year. Even if he gets us into the top 50, we win 4 more games last year. (still would have gotten beat in Columbia though). But we would have beat Texas, Colorado, KANSAS, (weren't we up by 14 at one point before the D decided to sit down and rest for the game?), and Okie State, however, that one was an ass whooping on both sides, and could be a toss up.
We will see, but I know Kansas is going to get smoked by Missouri and Nebraska this year, but don't cry, you'll always have 2007 to tell the grandkids about.
"You see Sonny, we had this fat guy..."
PS- Your bowl game WAS awesome though, I was pretty pumped about that...

Besides Marlon Lucky, you will see the best group of RB's since the Phillips/Green days. Nebraska will have an awesome running game. Period. 4 deep, all ready to go and start, Marlon is barely hanging on. In fact our Depth Chart has co- starters with Lucky and Helu.
And, oh, I don't know, how about the guy that threw 16 TD's and 1400+ yards in 3 games as a starter last year. Joe Ganz? He is on awards watch lists along with Marlon...
We did lose the playmakers at Reciever, but they do have 2 seniors who are possesion recievers, (ask Texas what they think about Nate Swift).
But our QB and RB are 100% solid, and we have the Best O Line in the Big 12.
The Question is, who ARE the play makers on d? I have no idea, since none of them wanted to play last year...

Check Nebraska from 2002 - 2003
The one year Bo was our D Cood.
Nebraska was #60 in 2002, then in 2003 we get Bo, and We have a top 10 D, lead the Nation in Turnovers, and set school records for INT's and team sacks.
It can be done, and we all saw it. You think we would want Bo because he has a cool name? He came in and did exactly what he promised to do last time, so he earned trust and respect from the fans. We are giving him his shot right now.

Going from 60 to 10 isn't that hard. Going from dead last to top 50...lot harder.
Pelini will put a jolt into your program...but it doesn't change the fact you will be fighting for 3rd in the division, and could easily end up being 5th in the division.

Ouch. Kansas will fall just as hard and fast as the rise they had last year.
Joe Ganz started his first game EVER against Kansas last year. 4 TD and 405 yards passing. I am willing to bet Iowa state give you fits this year...lol
kevin6387
08-19-2008, 04:24 PM
First, no Nebraska was never up by 14. Kansas and Nebraska kept trading touchdowns in the first quarter. Then Kansas threw all over them. What is sad I was jokingly saying in the stands to my friends we were going to drop 80... when we damn near did they all thought it was hilarious i called it before the game.
Joe Ganz is 100% solid... HAHA... And why would our defense try too hard when they were up by 40+ points? Of course Ganz is going to get some TD's. They were all to Purify too, who you guys don't have anymore if I remember correctly.
And why didn't you list the amount of interceptions Ganz threw last season? Kinda makes his stats not look as good huh? Kansas had the better offense and defense last year. They will again this year. As long as they are efficient (get turnovers, don't commit them) they will continue to be a good team.
And yes you are a delusional NU fan. Thinking you guys are going to be good this year makes you delusional. Lucky is a good running back, but you seriously are comparing Joe Ganz to Chase Daniel, Todd Reesing, Sam Bradford, Colt McCoy, and Graham Harrell? Ganz is like the 8th best QB in the conference. That's sad.

It's going to be interesting to see if KU and Mizzou are able to continue their winning ways this year. I think Mizzou has a good chance with the number of returning starters. I'm not sure if KU's success was a product of the schedule and getting on a roll or if they have turned the corner. Great coach.

I admit defeat on the "up by 14 part", it was 14-7, but I have tried to burn that game from my memory to be fair!
Ganz had 2 TD's in the first half, 2 TD's in the second half. He did throw 4 picks in his first start vs Kansas, but like YOU said, being down 40 kinda makes you sling it ala Brett Favre style. The next game he throws 7 TD's, 510 yards, no picks at KState (which I have a feeling you care for about as much as I do).
He has 3 starts under his belt, and still had a 16-7 TD-INT ratio. For only getting 10-20% of the practice snaps and For only throwing 122 yards in his 3 year career in real games (and not really, since it was mop up duty), I think 16-7 is pretty good.
He is no Chase Daniels, but he will be great. I don't get to nominate the people on the watch list, but he's on them. Strange...I didn't see either of Kansas' guys on there...
Wow, Kansas had the Better D last year. did you come up with that one all by yourself? Akron and 115 other teams had a better defense last year. Good one.
In either case, we can argue til we are jayhawk blue in the face, but when they get back on the bus for the boring ride back to Lawrence, there won't be any smiles.

Redsox - What watch list are you talking about? Because Reesing is on many... If you are in any kind of way stating Ganz > Reesing, then you are delusional. I never once said or implied Kansas had a football tradition. We were horrible through the 80's and had small amount of success in the 90's. The "Tradition since September" poster was a Mizzou fan, which is ironic that they would hold it up. That fan base acts like they invented the sport after last year. I'm just stating Kansas will be a better team than Nebraska.
And let me remind you that 2 years ago Kansas should have beaten NU in Lincoln, but like in 4 other games that year we relinquished our lead in the final seconds. We lost in OT and we were a 6-6 team that year. We lost in OT twice (NU [NU tied it with seconds to go] and Toledo) and lost in the last minute twice (A&M at home, and At Baylor [up 17 in the 3rd]). That 6-6 team shat themselves in the final seconds of the game, and screwed them right out of a possibly 10-2 season. Todd Reesing being in charge in the 4th quarter has everything to do with it. He has the confidence to go in and not piss down his leg when it's edgy. Meier has the same abilities, just not the physical toughness.
Not to mention Mangino is doing this with 1 and 2 star recruits and was a big get if we got a 3 star... Aqib Talib was a 2 star along with every other Jayhawk drafted last year. He developes his players much better than anyone in Nebraska has recently. Pelini needs to show he's a winner before you can start talking shit. Your history means nothing when you suck a lot recently.

Kevin - while the record was 6-6, losses to Toledo and Baylor even if it is last minute or OT are not excusable. I hope they have a good year and the schedule sets up for a good shot at 6 plus wins. Mangino is an awesome coach. I'm surprised he didn't get a significant amount of interest for other positions during the offseason.

PS - Missouri has won before. They have won big games before, granted it's been a while. After to being to Columbia for a few games in the 90's and being to Lawrence, I am shocked that you guys still have a team. In no way do I like Missouri, but they have a point. That's essentially bullshit. If Dennis Dixon didn't get hurt (yeah I'm playing the if game), Oregon would've easily been a BCS team last year. And when you have a team like USC in your conference, it's tough to grab a BCS bid, let alone nab 5-star players when they all flock to SoCal. But I think USC became mortal last year and they should be coming back down to Earth.

Texas has always been, and always be a hotbed for 5-star talent.
The Big XII is right there, neck and neck, with the SEC for the best conference in football this year. I think the preseason love in the polls just shows that.
Although I still am pretty pissed that everyone is giving Texas Tech so much love, when in reality...they are the same team that OSU is.

Yet they are ranked in the top 15 in both polls, while OSU got one vote in the USA Today poll.

Well, to be fair, Texas Tech's O is awesome, and they had the #1 Defense in the Big 12 over the last 6 games of last year. They bring back 10 starters to that D. They Still have Graham and Crabtree. Ask much as I want to agree with you, Okie State is still the 4th or 5th team in the South. Texas Tech could win the south this year. The winner of Oklahoma TTech wins the south.

It's pretty insane when OSU could very well go 7-5 this year, or even 8-4...and be the 4th or 5th best team in the division.
I am only "chalking up" 3 losses for OSU: Texas, Mizzou, and OU.
Texas Tech is an iffy one. I honestly think we could win one of the two between Texas Tech and OU.
We have a top 15 offense in the nation, and the most underrated QB in college football. If our defense steps up, we will be a Top 25 or Top 30 team.

What I don't understand is how Texas is getting so much love. Jamall Charles was there team in some of their wins last year. Nebraska and I think OSU (Mike correct me if I'm wrong). If he didn't go apeshit in the 4th then they would have had 2 more losses to the ones that include A&M and Kstate (By 20).
Redsox - you are still delusional, I know and don't care if KU fielded quite possibly the worst teams in div 1 during the 80's. When Mangino took over Stoops told him he had 4-5 legit div 1 players on this team. He has molded mostly 1 and 2 star recruits into contenders. Seriously, NU can use their history as an excuse to talk shit, but they haven't been good for years, and they don't look to be good this year.
Willy - how are those 22 Juco's working out for you. And isn't your RB depth down to guys who are like 160-175 pounds? That's got to hurt... that and losing Jordy Nelson. The big 12 is pretty happy you signed Prince to an extension.

First off, Only making fun of Man-giner's size, I cannot argue with his coaching ability. He took a team full of Tranny rejects and Broke the Top 5. I have to tip my hat. They also put up 70+ on Nebraska. another hat tip. Having a losing record to Callahan? Can't quite tip my hat for that one...

The Texas season could go either way this year. They do not have the experience or star power they have had in the past. Any optimism surrounds the fact that Mack hired Muschamp to revamp a pretty pathetic defense. All reports from camp indicate Muschamp is doing good things with the D. I think it will be OU with Texas coming in anywhere from 2 to 4 in the South. A lot of unknowns with UT, TT, OSU and A&M.
I'm still a bit skeptical about the number of Big XII teams that are highly ranked. Even if UT is one of them. If TT can field a defense they will be tough. I'll have to see it before I believe the hype.
Good point on Dixon's injury last year. They definitely would have made the BCS if that did not occur. Is there a challenger to USC this year?

When you're on the field, you do whatever you can to get in the endzone. It's really hard as a coach because you can't tell your guy to stop extending all the way, he just needed to hang onto the ball.
I forget the exact rule change...wouldn't the clock keep running if he had done that?
They said they stop the clock when it reads 1:59 and below. They had an instance last night where they ran out of bounds at exactly 2:00 and the officials kept the clock running. The commentators spent a little while talking about it.

Did he have a cleft palate as a kid? I see his face up close and I can't decide if that's a repaired hairlip or not.

I'm waiting for the Pryor era to begin. Boeckman has to be one of the worst QBs they've had in OSU for a long long time.
First team All-Big Ten? I'd say he's a little better than that.

Erickson was before my time, but I bet those were some good years to be a fan. Mike Riley is a great coach, it's just the caliber of players that make it to OSU just aren't 5-star athletes. This year is bad because we lost our whole front 7 on D and our star RB and kicker. And our QBs are awful.
