Someone tell me that '9-11 Tribute' was actually a tribute and not blatent fear mongering.

That video didn't sit right with me so I went back and watched it, to make sure I wasn't being a spineless sissy.

I'm sticking with my original assessment.

- First, leading off a tribute to the victims of 9-11 probably shouldn't start with militant Arabs, and certainly not a black and white photo of blindfolded hostages surrounded by bearded enemies.

- The first image of 9-11 was of a burning tower, the first words uttered over the image, "...And kill us they did"

- '...buildings burning, bodies falling'

- To me the 'Tribute' doesn't really start until a little over two minutes in, when the music changes and the narrators voice softens.

I can't see the families of the victims or the survivors of that day being particularly honored by this video. Even the reaction in the crowd after the video, a crowd that has really enjoyed the "red meat" portions of the convention thus far, seemed a little off and this was the most telling thing to me. A well done tribute probably would have brought out a lot more emotion, this video brought out what sounded like an awkward silence and maybe half the stadium clapping.

Not forgetting 9-11 is one thing, using it as a tool and propaganda to bring out fear and a rally cry for a party is wrong. Whoever made this video and okayed it to air should be ashamed of themselves. It's bad enough we were terrorized on that day, it's even worse that some in power keep using that day to terrorize us.

I felt the exact same way. It seemed like a History Channel special on terrorism, not a tribute. This is why I'm glad Giuliani isn't running. We would have had tons and tons of stuff like this. I don't mind tributes and stuff, but that just felt out of place for some reason.

Wow.

That video is shameless. How long will we "memorialize" 9/11 by using it as a political tool? Instead of remembering that day, we trivialize it by making shit videos like this, aimed not a true remembrance but at rallying a political party. Shit like this is a disgusting, terrible way to "remember".

what ya'll said. I lost a good friend that day, and yes many lost their loved ones that day, so to use it as a political tool..well, only someone who IS a tool would do that.

Shit It's hard for me to read my political thrillers b/c they have events that could/have happened and fiction isn't as fun when it's fact
