MBC brews aren't terrible, not the best by any means but my wife brought it home last night because I told her I wanted an IPA. She still hasn't quite learned the hierarchy of Michigan IPA's. She thinks that because I always get Bells Two Hearted Ale, that surely I wanted something different this time. As if.
I look kind of grubby because I just got home from work and I'm doing some shit before the football game tonight. Maybe I'll post some more of my guns later.

I've seen a few sites online that have them up around 2k... usually various grades/shapes on there so the high end, nearly brand new looking ones are 2k and the worn out, usually never restored ones are the 600 ones.

You should check it out, I saw one in pretty good condition for $800 last time I was there, it was definately used, but well oiled and the wood wasn't too fucked up. I think you're bound to find a better deal and something more to your liking according to the price range you're looking for at one of these shows.

I can't find them now, but at one point Marstar was selling a couple PTRS-41 anti-tank rifles. It was bolt action, 14.5mm, fired 800 grain tungsten cored armor piercing rounds, and I seem to recall it was only like $1200.
It also stated that it was legal in any state that normal rifles were legal.
As opposed to a sweet Galil Galatz listed on there for $8,500

I've never used it in a drive by or anything but i've taken it to the gun range close to where I work and fired it off with no problems at all. Honestly I don't remember if it was $190 or $290. I bought it over a year ago and didn't care about the price. As long as I can fire it once in a while with no problems I'm totally cool.
Edit - I guess it was $290, here is a link to some reviews of this model.

Alot of people that own one complain about mag wobble, but I have no complaints, mine sits firm. Never had a problem with the action staying open either. It's easy as hell to fire and maintain and definitely gets you looks at the gun range. I've only put about 300 rounds through it but I dig it.

Depends on the gun laws in your state. Here in AZ, the laws are pretty lax, I bought mine second hand. I got it for $800 with 2 30rd mags, hard case and 200 rounds. The same deal at a store for the same gun would cost over $1200.

My AR cost me $800, it has the match barrel, soft case, 5 20-round mags. I got it about 10 years ago though. To replace mine with a used/slight wear would cost $750 for a bare bones rifle.
To get a new replacement would probably cost me about $1000-1100.

Really, it depends what you want out of a rifle. The AK will be cheaper and more powerful (7.62 vs. 5.56), but both are ridiculously fun to shoot. The AR is more accurate and the upgrade possibilities are endless, but it is also more expensive. If you take good care of the AR it will last forever. I have fired both and they are great fun, but I prefer the accuracy that comes with the AR, I also think it looks better.

Very soon I will be looking at purchasing a handgun for both concealed carry, and to keep with me in my vehicle.
In Texas if you are driving in a vehicle and are legally allowed to own a pistol, you can carry it in your vehicle concealed.
So, in essence I'm looking for a medium to small handgun with good stopping power[.40 being the smallest I'll go] and not a Glock, as they are VERY uncomfortable to me.
Any suggestions? And why do you suggest it?

Here is an essay for the perks of a gun toting society by a stoned 17 year old Texan.

“The right to be controlled.”
Have you ever asked yourself how gun control affects you? As a citizen of the beacon of hope in a sea of oppression, an individual has several major freedoms that most of the world does not have: Freedom of speech, religion, and the right to bear arms. One of those three rights is currently being infringed upon in seemingly minor ways, yet minor things can add up to big things. The war for gun control (read: the war on guns) is raging, and the gun control lobbyists have made the first steps into outlawing guns to the general public. Gun control, in and of itself is quite a novel concept and well meaning to be sure, yet the closer one investigates those claiming to be protecting us, the same people who we trust to run our country; the more politics seems to come into play when discussing policy. However you look at it, one must look at facts regarding gun control to understand it; knowing how many people died vs. how many people were saved by guns, how current laws affect you, and how politicians cite false or erring studies to mislead the public.
When investigating whether something is good for a country or not, one must first break down the subject they’re discussing into two basic elements. For the purposes of this paper I will use good and evil as definitions of the basis of the issue. As clarified in “Firearms and Crime Statistics” by the US Bureau of Justice Statistics, “According to the National Crime Victimization Survey (NCVS) in 2000, 533,470 victims of serious violent crimes (rape and sexual assault, robbery, and aggravated assault) stated that they faced an offender with a firearm.” Anyone would agree that 500,000 crimes per year committed with a handgun is evil, however as cited in the “Citizens’ Self -Defense Act of 1997” statistics used by congress to make decision, “Every year, more than 2,400,000 people in the United States use a gun to defend themselves against criminals-or more than 6,500 people a day. This means that, each year, firearms are used almost 5 times more often to protect the lives of honest citizens than to take lives.” As highlighted by the evidence attributed to congressional decisions, while guns may be used for evil; more lives, property, and dignity is protected every year from guns than are destroyed in four.
Not only are guns not evil, they can be a ladies best friend. Picture a young woman; she’s a single mother in a big city working two jobs to support her children. Every night after work this young woman has to walk four blocks to a bus station in a bad part of town, and two more blocks from the bus station to her house in a worse neighborhood. Now put yourself in place of this woman, you have children depending on you and the money you bring in from both of your jobs, you don’t enjoy work but you do it anyway because you love your family, but there are gangs rampant in the areas where you must traverse daily, what do you do? There are several possibilities, some with more merit than others: Mace if a viable option, though you run the risk of getting it on yourself, and at the range in which it is effective, your assailant could already be on top of you by the time you’re able to protect yourself. A Stun gun is another viable option, though more expensive and not as easy to use, the short distance in which the stun is applicable; just as with mace makes a stun gun an unfortunate choice. Now imagine the same woman, trained by the NRA on how to correctly use a firearm, carrying a small “Saturday night special”
as they have been dubbed. What would happen to the woman were she assailed, likely the same thing that happens to 192,000 women every year when they’re attacked and brandish a firearm, the attacker leaves (CSDA 1997).
When deciding something, one should consider past applications of the idea they’re currently trying to implement. For example: You don’t like being drunk, every time you drink, you get drunk so to keep from getting drunk, you stop drinking. In nations where guns have been outlawed, gun violence has dramatically increased in the years following the bans. In countries where firearms are mandatory for every male over 18 who is the head of a household, gun violence is lower than anywhere else in the world. Dave Kopel points out the infirmity and effects of British gun control laws in “The British Gun Closet”. History points out that fewer guns equal more crime, since citizens are less able to protect themselves from an armed attacker when all they’re brandishing is a cell phone. Think about it, if you are an armed assailant, and you live in a country where it is mandatory that every individual over the age of 18 possess a working firearm, who would you attack? Possibly the little old lady driving the expensive car… but wait, what if she is a law abiding citizen and carries a firearm? Anyone weary of being shot at by the little old lady, and everyone else who happens to be near would do well to keep away from such a crime.
Current gun laws in the US prohibit most people from carrying a concealed firearm unless they have a permit from the government, it prohibits people from owning a .50 caliber sniper rifle, and it prevents people from owning an "assault weapon". These three laws seem fairly sound, and I firmly believe the permit law is sound. However, the other two laws in question are of a dubious motive at best. Why, you ask? Since 1934, only one person in the USA who legally owned what is federally defined as a "machine gun" has committed a crime with it. The man who committed the murder was a 13 year veteran of the Dayton, Ohio PD, who murdered another officer. (Guncite.com) Despite the fact that only one person has died from a legally owned "machine gun" since 1934, and no one in the history of our country has EVER been killed by a ".50BMG Sniper Rifle" these firearms have been deemed dangerous in the hands of everyday, law abiding citizens (CapMag.com article 2712).
In the end, it is up to every citizen to stand up for the rights garnered by the simple act of being born in this great nation. When making your decision, remember that no opinion is wrong; however, an opinion backed by hard facts holds more weight with common society. Sadly, due to catastrophically bad reporting on the behalf of America's major news corporations, most Americans still believe that disarming law abiding citizens will not only protect them from crime, but protect their rights.
(If I remember correctly, the teacher was a liberal fuck and the assignment was to argue for gun control, I turned this in and got an A anyway.)

Attribute this to user error.
Your first option in self defense is always get the fuck out of there. If you can run, run like hell. If you can't, kill that mother fucker.
If you truly intend to carry a handgun for personal protection, you should understand that if you are ever in a situation where you have to use it odds are you will be pretty damn close to your opponent/attacker/target. In that fight, you will default to you level of training, so you must train to be quick and precise. Precision means self control, so if you lose your cool or panic, you won't be accurate. This is one reason why flight is the first option. Train to be quick, close, and cool, and the perceived differences in accuracy will vanish.
Now, any bullet can kill you, but few of them will kill you instantly. It really depends upon what it hits once goes inside the body. The .45 acp will knock you down. It is the optimum defense weapon...because walking around with a shotgun in public is generally frowned upon. Even in Texas.
