This is honestly the best show you've never seen (assuming you watched Arrested Development).

This is one of the best shows I have ever seen. As far as dramas, same level as Sopranos or Rome, better than Deadwood and The Wire.

It's no coincidence that the creator of the show used to write for the Sopranos. I love this show. One of my few must-watch-as-it-airs.

Great show, but am a bit annoyed by all the hype because it makes it feel like something crazy and exciting should be happening in every episode because of the raised expectations. Normally that's a good thing, but Mad Men already is on a razor's edge between kitchy and a solid, modern period piece that if you throw it too far into the unbelievable it falls into the kitchy and fiction too much.
Part of the thrill of this show is the simple coolness of watching people live in a dated period of time that dealt with a lot less bullshit than we do today, so I don't want crazy plot twists or modern women having secret babies unless it truly contributes to the story, character and feel of the overall arc of the series. I want to watch it because it feels historic in the millions of details it has, and therefore epic in its scope and vision to transport us authentically.
I do recommend the show, but watch the 1st season first, its a great build up with some awesome moments of no pc scene writing.

Don Draper is a man's man.

Don Draper is slowly passing Ari Gold and becoming my favorite tv show character. And his wife is extremely hot. And come to think of it, so is his mistress.

Don Draper is definitely the best character on TV now. And Birdie is hot in those riding pants.
I think this would have been a lot better on HBO.

I can barely remember the episodes after I watch them, but that's because I am usually drinking a highball of scotch during the show.

It seems like it got a lot more "arty" this year, like the writers are trying too hard or something.

There's definitely more setup this year than last. Some episodes do leave a "that's it??" feel, but the plot and delivery feels the same even if some endings don't.

Don's new secretary is fucking hot. Wonder why they implied her whorishness instead of showing us scene by scene.

Tomorrow night (10/17) on Jeopardy, they're going to have a Mad Men category featuring actors from the show.
