I love how they portrayed Regis as a jacked-up crazy person.
And I don't know if it was on purpose or not, but when Barney was scooting away from Regis when they first met him at the gym, Barney screamed something (don't remember what) in a Regis voice. It was funny as hell.
I know it was totally cheesy, but when Regis punched the newspaper machine outside the wrong "Burger" place and they cut back to Barney in the cab, and then back to regis and the machine was dented I lol'd.

I did too. That was the most random way to portray Regis ever. He always portrays "himself" as kind of a hyper guy, but the whole juiced-up super-strong thing was extremely funny to me.
Regis was fantastic. HIMYM doesn't disappoint.
I have to give CBS credit. I used to never watch the channel (except for football on Sunday and NCAA ball). Two and a Half men is up against Raw, so I only see that show in syndication and I like it. But HIMYM, and now Worst Week and Gary Unmarried have me tuning in. I'm sure those 2 won't last, but it's a rarity I watch CBS or have liked any "newer" sitcoms recently. The last "new" show I think I liked is 30 Rock.
However, I worked this Monday night, so I finally got around to watching HIMYM and WW on their website. Bastards don't put Two and a Half Men on there.

Caught this show a few nights ago.....might have been a re-run with Regis and them looking for some great burger joint in NY but this show is damn funny. Jason Segel and NPH are great. The ladies are pretty attractive as well. The episode had a tinge of "The Wonder Years" feeling for me with Saget doing the V.O. for the older character.
It was new. Episode 2 of the new season.

I think that, coupled with the fact that they probably have a lot more fun writing for the other characters. Ted really is the straight man of the group. They are usually the hardest to write for.
The writers realized how awesome Barney/NPH was, so the show has almost started being about him just as much. Which is why the show has tripled in awesomeness.

That was a fantastic episode with a bullshit ending. I was hoping for the baker from season 1 (Victoria?).
This has got to be a red herring. The writers are too in-touch with their audience to make Stella the mother. Also, I maintain that she CANNOT be the mother, based on the fact that The Mother was at the St. Patrick's Day party in season 3, but Stella originally told Ted that she "never" got out, so it is unlikely that she would've been at the party.
I was disappointed originally, but now I've managed to convince myself that we're right about this being a mislead. Seeing Stella again is going to somehow lead to Ted meeting the ACTUAL mother.

That was a fantastic episode with a bullshit ending. I was hoping for the baker from season 1 (Victoria?).
This has got to be a red herring. The writers are too in-touch with their audience to make Stella the mother. Also, I maintain that she CANNOT be the mother, based on the fact that The Mother was at the St. Patrick's Day party in season 3, but Stella originally told Ted that she "never" got out, so it is unlikely that she would've been at the party.
She did tell Ted that she'd only gone out once and left early, which would jive with Ted picking up the mother's umbrella.
But if Stella was the mother, where's her daughter during storytime?

The only things I know of that NPH has done is both H&K's...which were basically probably 2 day shoots, he did SNL, which was sweet, and he did Dr. Horrible last year, and should hopefully do Dr. Horrible 2 this summer (fingers crossed)
Segal is just fucking awesome. Plus he has the Muppet movie coming up. Dude's a breakout. But yeah, Josh Radnor sucks. Ted is supposed to kind of suck, but Josh makes Ted suck on a different level.

I hate to admit i just went to it, but there's a website call "be awesome instead" which walks through various "who is the mother" theories. i tend to think the writers themselves may not know yet, they'll probably wait until they can do audience tests to guage popularity. i kind of like the mother from scrubs though, but you don't go back to a woman that's left you at the altar in any scenario, do you? maybe it's her friend's umbrella?

haha I also laughed how there was a total stunt double for Alyson Hannigan, when she jumped.
I think there was for everyone, hence the shots of just their legs and feet as they "flew" from one ledge onto the other patio.
Not surprising for Hannigan and Smulders as both were totally pregnant during filming.

They must of filmed it out of sequence, Smulders was showing in earlier epis.

If, down the line, Barney and Robin get married, Marshall will use his last slap on Barney at the altar.
More likely, though, Barney and Robin will leave for some extended trip overseas at the end of the series, and Marshall might give him a goodbye slap.
Yeah the last slap will obviously be in the last episode but I was full expecting a season 4 slap.
It's safe to say the "Uncle Barney" and "Aunt Robin" garbage from the story is just that they're close friends to Ted who get called Aunt/Uncle (rather than being related to the mother). So so far what we know is she's in Ted's first class and lost the yellow umbrella which Ted now has.
Checking now, but the Slutty Pumpkin was not the Mother, right? Because that was 3 seasons ago and even THEN the story was a Halloween several years prior, so unless Ted's class is a graduate class AND she's a senior or something she was pretty fucking young when Ted met her.

Yeah, it's not the Slutty Pumpkin, or at least it's very likely not. Sagat doesn't do any kind of voice thing that she has anything to do with anything. I think the Pumpkin was just another part of showing Ted as this hopeless romantic (as with Robin and the "I love you" and the blue French horn).

At the St. Patty's Day party in season 3, there's a moment when Ted bumps into a woman and says "sorry." She says something like, "that's okay," gives him a flirtatious look, and walks away. There is absolutely no reason to include a random scene like that unless it ends up being significant in retrospect. I'm calling it right now; she's the mother. They'll flash back to that scene after she's revealed, with something like "remember how I said your mother was at that party?"
