since Yahoo just opened registration for Fantasy Hoops, I went ahead and setup the league.
ask me for the info since we've already had some people sign up that weren't in the league last year.

just a note: this isn't my GMF_H2H basketball league for those who have signed up.
these were the managers last year: Wolf, Pats, BSM, Carl, Tua, TT, Bones, FoD, Ninja, and me.
if you weren't in this league last year, don't sign up unless there's availability.

I already got two people not returning, but I still have yet to hear from most people. if half the league leaves, do we even bother with keepers or just start from scratch?

now that two spots are open, you and Zaph can have them ... the only issue is seeing who else is returning or not. if half or the majority don't come back, I say we just start from scratch and draft new teams.
if most people come back, then I'll give you the teams you'll be taking over.

i joined finally. took a look at my team, ill keep camby.
my team was pretty sweet considering i didnt have anyone id consider a superstar...although camby is built for fantasy bball.

as of now, these people have yet to sign up: Carl, TT, FoD, and Pats.
Bones already informed me he won't be coming back. I'm guessing TT and FoD might not be coming back since they barely come on here, so Kyle and Zaph replace those guys. and if Carl and Pats elect not to return (plus Bones not coming back), then we'll have 3 more open spots. so that will leave 5 returning managers, 5 new ones. should we even do keepers or select new teams under this scenario?
potential keepers: Paul, Nowitzki, Granger, Marion, Iverson, Bosh, among others.

If we fill new spots for a "hardcore" league, we need to get established members to fill the spots obviously. I can get two more that fit the bill if need be.
And Granger shouldn't be a keeper on anybody's radar pollo lolz.

If only half the Og managers are back, I really think we should just re-draft for a (sorta) new keeper league.
I guess I would be indifferent to a Full Re-Draft. The only caveat I would request is that we keep the draft order based on the final standings from last year.
Because I'd be picking 2nd then.

yeah, as I said before, if only half of us are coming back, I don't see why we keep players and just have a redo, but I'm still waiting to hear from Pats and Carl, and I've already replaced TT and FoD (since we barely see those guys) with Zaph and Kyle. and with Bones leaving, that opens up a spot: hence why there's 3 open spots, if Pats and Carl do leave.

also, I wanted to ask the league, is it alright if we do the draft sometime at the end of next week, like next Thursday? I ask that since I'll be out of the country for about 10 days not this weekend, but the following one up until nearly the end of this month. so by the time I get back, it should be opening night of the NBA season. I'm also fine with doing a draft when I come back (if you guys are willing to bypass one week of the season), but I'm sure most of us want to conduct a draft before the season starts.

if you're asking about the draft day/time, I've already set it up for both this league and the GMF_H2H one. I thought initially I would be gone for 10 days, but it turns out I'll be gone for only a week, so since the regular season begins Oct. 28th, I went ahead and setup the draft on Oct. 26th at 7 pm. for those in the GMF_H2H one, it's at 8:30 PM on the same day.
also, I have found (with the help of Zaph) of five new people: Ricky, NJ, Kyle, JT, Zaph. since only half of us are returning, I think it's best we screw the keepers and start new.

Go back and see if yahoo opened some slots, that just sucks to have back to back drafts, that late at night on the East Coast. Some of us gotta work in the morning and back to back drafts are always seem like a better idea until you do them.

I'm glad I missed the draft................Does my team really suck? I haven't done hoop in about 4 years so I'm not sure how bad it actually sucks. It doesn't look horrible but I haven't looked at all the other teams. I'm pretty sure I'm lacking in assists.

it will either be the traditional one or two at most, but we'll decide that at the end. I really like my team, too -- especially if Oden and Horford live up to the potential I think they have. and if the 76ers live up to how good they could be, then my crew of 76ers should be dandy.
