Summary from G4 website: While we don't endorse bank robbery or any other kind of illegal monkeyshines, we have to admire a yet-to-be-caught Seattle area bank robber. The guy committed the perfect crime and is well on his way to comic-book style super-villainy. Here's how it happened.
Last week, someone took out an ad on craigslist recruiting several dozen people to show up for a job interview at a bank wearing a "Yellow vest, safety goggles, a respirator mask ... and, if possible, a blue shirt." Then, the robber showed up, dressed in the aforementioned outfit, at the same time as the internet job seekers. Successfully camouflaged by the crowd, the thief pepper-sprayed an armored car guard, grabbed some sacks of lewts and took off. He jumped into a river, where he'd cleverly stashed an inflated inner-tube and floated off down the stream to freedom and financial independence.
Seattle FBI spokeswoman Robbie Burroughs called the robbery uncommon and said, "I do remember one time we had a bank robbery in Olympia, and the guy got into scuba gear and dove into the water... I thought that was the most bizarre thing I'd ever heard until today."
Creativity in crime is so satisfying.

I don't know The Dark Knight opening sequence was very well executed I thought as well. So in a sense yes "Heat" was the best because Nolan said he modeled TDK after Heat in some instances. Pretty kick ass that someone actually tried something more than a gun and a ski mask. Cheers to creativity.

I in no way endorse bank robbery, especially ones that involve some sort of killing, but this shit is awesome. There's a reason a lot of the old bank robbers from the west are still admired and I do believe its because of creativity and not the violence.

Well done sir, well done indeed.

This guy will get away with it until he shows up to an Xmas party at a bar in Brooklyn with a pink Caddy that he got for a wedding gift. And he and his bride wind up dead with a bullet to the head inside their car.

What kind of idiot do you have to be to think that craigslist ad was legit?

Yah, the 'respirator' should have given it away right there. But it didn't necessarily have to be a craigslist, although that is perhaps the best way to keep it as anonymous as possible..because there are a lot of 'facebook' and 'myspace' events where people just 'show up' someplace all at the same time.

I hope he gets away..he even used pepper instead of bullets to take out the guard, now that's a humanitarian for you. I hope he isn't ever caught, and becomes a modern day "DB Cooper".

Although he didn't get away I like Clooney's attempted robbery in Out of Sight where tricked the teller into thinking some random guy was his accomplice.

this was a pretty cool way to rob... "choir boy robber"
http://www.fbi.gov/thisweek/archive/thisweek082407.htm

he'd make his getaway on a bicycle. it was also his undoing b/c the bike, being a custom, was like a fingerprint in the end... he did accomplish 11 robberies though

Decoys wanted: Online ad drew look-alikes for Wash. robber who made away with bank loot

(MONROE, Wash.) An online advertisement offered $28.50 an hour to anyone who wore a blue, long-sleeved shirt, yellow safety vest, eye protection and ventilator mask and waited near a bank.

Apparently, it should have been labeled "decoys wanted."

Police said a number of people wearing the specified outfit were waiting near a Bank of America branch Tuesday when a similarly dressed man accosted a Brinks armored truck guard with pepper spray during a cash delivery in Monroe (http://www.newsweek.com/related.aspx?subject=Monroe), a town about 25 miles northeast of Seattle. Police said the man grabbed a bag of money and eluded pursuers after entering a nearby creek.

FBI agents were trying to determine the source of the ad posted on craiglist.org, which ostensibly was seeking landscaping help on a city project, Monroe police spokeswoman Debbie Willis said.

"We believe the ad was not a credible ad and that it may have been an attempt to get people dressed like the suspect into the area," she said.
As of Thursday morning no one had been arrested and the source of the ad remained undetermined, FBI Agent Roberta A. Burroughs said.

Fucking genius.
