This topic has come up before. I think it's total horseshit. The politcal correctness movement claims another casualty. Thanks to Title IX, all schools have to spend as much money on female athletics as they do male athletics. Something to that effect. Just based on your own experiences, how many guys want to participate in scholastic sports as opposed to how many girls? So how many dollars are spent per male student that would like to participate vs how many dollars are spent per female? It's a crock of shit.

And then you get shit like this where the girls are allowed to cross over which just makes it worse. Why are chicks allowed to play guy sports but guys aren't allowed to play chick sports? Just to prove a point, you should get 5 average male athletes to go out for field hockey or some shit. 5 average male athletes having never played the sport before would still dominate and kick 5 chicks out of the starting spot. Oh but that would be bad!!! But how is it any different? How about when you let the girls compete on the male wrestling team. All kidding aside of what you would have done to wrestle with chicks when you were in high school, that kid is damned if he wins (big deal you beat a girl) and damned if he loses (your social life is over). Then with 5 year olds being charged for sexual harassment, how long before a guy gets sued for grabbing some wrestling chick with a six pack grip?

(AP) A 17-year-old New York City girl is facing down tackles by 250-pound boys to live her dream: She's playing high school football.

Long Island City High School student Irene Gjoka is expected on the field Sunday for her first game.

The 105-pound, 5-foot-tall girl says she didn't think anybody believed she would play after three weeks of brutal practices. But she says she doesn't care about bruises ''or anything like that.''

Bulldogs Coach Stephen Agresti says once or twice a year a girl comes to ask about joining the team and then goes away. He says Gjoka persisted. Still, Agresti says he didn't expect her to survive tackling practice.

But he says she came back the next day. She made it through 16 practices for Sunday's game.

I don't give a shit if a girl wants to play football or wrestling or whatever. If she can play, let her play. If she can't, dominate her until she goes away or is irrelevant.

It's the same thing with disabled people competing. If a guy with no arms wants to wrestle you, you do your best to destroy him. He doesn't need any favors.

It's only an issue if there's a competitive advantage, such as if artificial legs actually reach such a stage they're better than natural ones.

No he isn't, and I agree with what he said.

It's like when women wanted to join the fighting outfits of the armed forces. 80% of them flunked out at once anyway, so who gives a shit? If Danica Patrick wants to race Lewis Hamilton, fine; when he's ahead by 15 seconds after a lap, she may realise the error of her ways.

I see no problem with her competing.

To me, the issue of girls playing boys' sports and the argument of why can't boys play girls' sports can all be answered by looking at wrestling -- a sport that is committed to pitting equals against equals.

Say, there is a 140-pound limit for one weight class. Anyone under that weight can wrestle in it, whether they weigh 140 pounds or 100 pounds. Let the best wrestler win. But the 140-pound wrestler cannot wrestle in the 100-pound class because he weighs too much and has an unfair advantage.

This is analogous to the girls and boys sports. The size and strength differences between boys and girls, which are facts of nature, mean there should be different teams. Let's take hockey, where there are both girls and boys teams. Almost certainly, the boys team is better than the girls, in no small part because of the boys' overall size, strength (which includes skating speed) and skill levels. But if a girl has the skill and the physical ability to earn a spot on that team, she should be allowed to play there and not be forced to play with the girls. And, like the 100-pound wrestling weight class, the boys cannot play on the girls' team, because the overall size and strength advantages would destroy the game.

And, to bring my argument down to the level of the macho men who complain that if girls can play boys sports, boys should be able to play girls' sports, I say, "Grow a pair, quit whining and what are you so afraid of?"

I thought this thread was about a girl getting gang fucked by a whole football team. This is certainly less interesting.

She's suing the school in hopes of getting gang fucked by footballers.

There's some big fat chick playing on the O line somewhere in po-dunk Texas right now. She's freakishly strong and she starts and I know they didn't just give her the starting spot. She earned it.

No, Swurgen had it right. It's not an issue of anyone being afraid of losing to a girl, it's an issue of a ridiculous double standard. Schools are forced to give equal funding to womens' athletics as they do to regular athletics programs (which are open to both males and females). The athletic programs exclusively for women are formed due to the misguided belief that women are incapable of competing with the men and that because of this they require their own separate programs.
I have no problem with women having their own leagues if they found their own funding, but the fact that the schools are forced to fund the double standard is just plain wrong. It is akin to if the schools were forced to have different basketball divisions for white students and black students, on the belief that blacks are better at sports. There would be public outrage if that were ever implemented, but for some reason it's taboo for the male gender to expect to be treated fairly and equally.
Even if the two genders were kept completely separate in sporting events (no women allowed on mens' teams as well) it would still likely be unfair to require equal funding due to social reasons such as a higher percentage of men being involved in athletics.

If women want to play with the men, then by all means let them play. Just don't out the other side of your mouth tell me that women CAN'T compete with men. Sorry, but you can't have your cake and eat it too.

What position could she possibly play that she's not going to get way fucked up if she gets put in the game? She's tiny. Is she a kicker?

"I'm going to limit her to situations where she can play and not get clobbered," Agresti said, noting that Gjoka will probably line up on special teams. She has practiced blocking and tackling on special teams and running in the backfield.

You can always diet or beef up to wrestle in different classes. Her dream is to go play football. Big fucking deal. What if some guy's dream is to play field hockey? I'm all for fairness and equality but that street goes two ways whether it be any kind of double standard. It's ok to be inequal as long as the white male is being 'victimized'. Whether it be some little whorelet looking to pull a train in the locker room or a minority comic having freedom of speech to rip on white people and white comics are hammered if they attempt to do the same. Yes these are unimportant issues in the grand scheme of things but they're just examples. Yes white males had it pretty good for a long time on this planet and we still do but mom always said 2 wrongs don't make a right. Don't victimize people of today for something that somebody completely different got away with a hundred years ago.

The runners who are running with those blades should be absolutely excluded from 100% human contests unless those contests are specially set up as such. If they don't like it...tough shit.

Title IX, remarkably similar to smoking bans. Bitched about to no end, but no one ever makes even the slightest attempt to change the situation, because in the end, no one really cares.
