Gillette Fusion must have paid a billion dollars for this set of commercials.

Anybody else watching the Roast Of Bob Saget on Comedy Central?

Greg Giraldo and Jon Lovitz were both pretty lame.

Jeff Ross is getting upstaged by Norm MacDonald, naturally. He's usually pretty funny, but his jokes on this one are pretty weak. Norm hasn't even started his roast yet and he's funnier than these first three guys.

And holy crap Jodie Sweetin has an awesome rack.

Yeah, her and Norm were the only ones with actual...jokes, and not just "DUR fuck dur offensive insult."

Norm actually roasted the roast. They were all intentionally tame/lame insults.

Shit, this roast is really bad. I'm out.

All these Comedy Central roasts suck now. The untelevised stuff is great. Roasts of Rich Vos and Colin Quinn and shit.

They need to get rid of these lame-ass no name comedians. They use them every year, they never know the people they're roasting, so the jokes are always just run-of-the-mill insults anybody could come up with, and everybody always makes the same joke about how nobody knows who they are.

Aren't roasts to be your best friends just treating you like dog shit?

If so, why do they continually have the same D-level comedians, of which, half of them hadn't even met Saget more than a few times?

I still watch these roasts usually...but it's fucking retarded. Each "comedian" gets up there for 8 minutes, rips the same people who were there last year (all NOT NAMED BOB SAGET), all re-hash the same 3 jokes (Saget likez teh underage, Stamos is a pretty-boy, full house was gay), and then say something to the effect of "I have met him a few times...he seems like a cool guy"...

...give me a fucking break.

The Sci Fi Channel wants to change its image, by misspelling its own name as "Syfy" — apparently the "y" stands for "Yurgh, terrible idea."

Also, don't get too comfortable with the old Saturn logo, because that's getting the boot as well. The channel's new tag line will be "imagine greater," and the changes could roll out as soon as July 7th. The rebranding will debut in front of advertisers today. Maybe I fear change too much, but will this tweak really expand the possibilities of a channel that already runs a schedule full of whatever they loosely call science fiction? I never felt that the channel was every truly limited by a need to broadcast actual SF, so I'm not really sure what'll change with the title.

I was never an ER regular watcher, but I've probably seen most of the series (excluding the past 3-4 years or so) thanks in large part to TNT. I have watched most of this seasons' eps and last night's finale was extremely meh (and this whole season).

Well, as I said, I really haven't seen this show since Stamos joined until this season. So maybe the quality completely tanked during that stretch. But compared to old school (any time with Carter) this season blew me.

Exactly. I fucking hate Mondays.

Chuck is one of the better shows on TV, period. However, the only thing that will save it will be the internet. Chuck has a HUGE following of fanboys/comic nerds.

And no, Chuck doesn't win it's timeslot by a longshot. House still does huge numbers, ABC has fucking Dancing with the Stars, and then Big Band/HIMYM does better ratings than Chuck.

Well the ratings for last Friday's episode were terrible. Poor Joss. He needs to create shows for SciFi, USA, or another cable outlet. He's failed a major network TV twice now (FOX both times!). Wouldn't a 13 episode dose of Whedon every year on SciFi be better than 13 12 episodes on network TV with the always looming threat of cancellation?

(BTW, I know the only reason Dollhouse is on FOX is because Eliza Dushku had a contract with the network. But still.)

Anyone watch this season of The Amazing Race? Tammy & Victor deserved the win but had mad advantage with the last third of the race reliant on Chinese. The producers should research contestants language skills more before accepting them for a season to level the playing field.

El Torpedo
05-11-2009, 09:27 AM
I was so torn between my dick wanting the cheerleaders to be on the screen at every moment and my head aching at their bitchiness. Tammy and Victor were pretty dominant for most of the race, not just the China leg, though that definitly pushed them up. The final leg was dead even from the start though, so it was any ones win. Decent season I'd say

Rover
05-11-2009, 09:39 AM
But the first half in China they were screwed by the challenges. They were (I think) 3rd to the pitstop that wasn't a pitstop because they completely messed up the swimming challenge. Granted, the second half of China they built up a 2 hour lead because the other teams were wandering around struggling with directions to the Uturn.

However, they'd been consistently in the top 3 all race. So, while I do agree that it's a huge advantage to speak a language, I don't think it's that big of an advantage because the road blocks and detours can screw you up much more.

Plus, they all left for Maui at the same time, so it's not like it was an advantage for the last leg of the race.

Techtro
05-11-2009, 06:19 PM
True that it wasn't an advantage for the final leg as they were all on the same flight, but my questions is would they have made it to the final three if it hadn't been majority china for the final third of the season.

As for the cheerleaders that Jaime was a complete Bitch, even in the final challenge when Luke teamed up with her you knew that if Cara hadn't told her to keep her end of the bargain she would have just taken off.

The thing about the Amazing Race is they now have all nice people in it, remember classic couples like season 5's Colin & Kristy with him always telling her off (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6407884/) and almost getting arrested for not paying that cabbie, or Season 6 with Jonathan & Victoria and him almost punching his wife (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/7120110/) after pushing her over for being a loser (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6743532/).

They need better villain's in this show that will do anything to win, this nice shit gets boring.

Yeah I would say that 'Jamie' was the 'villain' this season but because Cara was pretty nice to everyone she kind of ruled Jamie out.

The only time I was excited this season one of the last episodes where Luke and that black chick were pushing. It would have been so much better if he wasn't deaf because as he said in the car after his mum explained it to him he would have probably punched her which would have been awesome.

Overall bring back the abusive boyfriend/husbands to bring the ratings back up big time. If that's to much to ask for then perhaps a hot lesbian couple who get it on all the time... or a gay guy couple with one being the alpha and totally bullying the other would also be cool to see.

Rover

I wanted the deaf kid to win. I liked Luke. And fuck, Techtro. The cheerleaders were villains! Whatever country they were in they treated everyone like shit and acted like the cabbies and shit were fucking ignorantI liked that deaf kid, until he turned into an asshole. When he's throwing elbows and pushing people around, it's okay, but the minute someone does it to him, he turns into an 8 year old girl. Fuck him. Him not being able to line up the surfboards last night was great. Especially when his mother is bragging up his studying and memorizing the events.

Those cheerleaders were both bitches. It takes a lot for me to empathize with a person on a reality TV show, but I felt bad for every one of their cab drivers. I loved that dispatcher in Hawaii last night telling her that she's not a personal concierge. And to top it off, they were completely disrespectful with every person they'd meet and ask directions from. Way to play down those American tourist stereotypes.

I agree that we need more dysfunctional married/long term relationship couples.

OK then

This past season of 24
Reaper season one
Witcblade series
Jericho

Next on my DL list to watch then?

24, it was a fun season.

And I also got sucked into Farscape, I got the series for a birth or Xmas or something (it was on mah list) and I got about halfway through and I've had no real urge to keep going. It's fine, but just not really engaging.

I worked through the first two seasons of Picket Fences on Hulu. Now I'm catching up on Aqua Teens. Apparently they continued making this show after 2004. Who knew? Should take about 3 hours since each ep is 10 minutes long.

After that, my summer list is
Breaking Bad
Always Sunny
Rescue Me

I wish they would bring 'Temptation Island' back one of these days.

Ok I watched the end of some show called Superstars. It got my attention by having Joanna Krupa in it.

Well I saw the end of it and I will say TO and JK got ripped off.

Sure TO got his foot caught in the 1st run through. But so did the basketball chick. The only difference? Joanna had to run the course while Dan Cortese didn't. So when it came down to the final run Dan wasn't tired or anything from the previous run through. Could it have made a difference? Who knows. But The basketball chick got all kinds of turned around. At least TO and JK finished both times.

Is there any chances that Virtuality will be picked up for at least a mini serie or even a full season? The pilot was pretty neat and had some great potential.

Been watching the State on late night Comedy Central. And now I remember why I loved it.

Monkey Torture, Watch the Monkeys Do It and Justice LEague are some of my favorite bits. 'And Aquaman...' 'Yeah.' 'Go talk to some fish bwahahaha'

Also Edward Norton was on it as Edward Norton.

Finished my run of Always Sunny. Very excellent. My favorite episode has to be the one where the gang gets taken hostage by those weirdo brothers. Solid gold start to finish. The first season seemed to me the best, but all were pretty solid. What night will this be on when it comes back in the fall?
