It’s unfortunate, but some people don’t have any idea what a turkey shoot is. A turkey shoot, for the uneducated among you, is a sport shooting event wherein local hunters (read, drunken rednecks with guns) compete amongst one another in a test of their marksmanship for a prize, which may sometimes include an actual turkey but is most commonly monetary. In days of yore, this was a means for people to feed their families as a man could enter the games and come home with a mighty beast fit for the fire. Today, it’s an excuse to willfully discharge firearms whilst downing jar after jar of moonshine (or at least that’s how it goes in my neck of the woods).
We Southerners, we are easily entertained. I give you – TRAPSHOOT!
