I am temporarily without my old computer as I still haven't fixed those problems. Can't remember what my old image downloader was. Not linky but what app do you guys use to bulk download all of the imagevenue etc images on an entire page?

I had this problem too. It was my security software. Seems FF3 didn't want to play nice with my firewall so I had to lower the cookie settings.

I'm having problems getting to a lot of stuff. Inbedded movies, such as GT stuff, won't play all the way through and I can't type in links and get to the sites, just keeps me where I am.

I also am having a TON of problems with pages not loading fully, think it may be the same thing. Threads here will just stop loading or not load fully. I have to refresh a few times to see the entire thing. Its fucking gay.

Another problem, I can't google something and have it go the page. Random fucking links open up. This is fucking stupid.

I am assuming you are using Firefox... I used to have this issue, the only solid solution I had was to completely uninstall/reinstall (actually, I just reformatted my computer due to other issues and the problem mostly went away with it).

Prior to that, I just used IE Tab (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1419), much more convenient than loading up IE itself. Aside from that, I have no true fix for you.

Duuuuude the new Firefox sucks ASS. Not only is the new design terrible, but I used it to have so that all my data gets deleted when I close down Firefox, except cookies and cache. But now it seems the sites that I visit the most are remembered somewhere and shown in the url dropdown menu, plus the last few adresses in my favorites. Stupid idiots screwed this up.

Is there a way to fix this?

Yeah.. You can start using I.E. which for some reason you people will never do despite all your issues with FireFox. Additionally, you can roll back to the previous version. Mozilla keeps a running archive of all versions of FireFox on their public FTP site. Just go to the following site...

http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/

Download the last stable version... I believe THIS (http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/2.0.0.16/win32/en-US/Firefox%20Setup%202.0.0.16.exe) would be the one you want, then uninstall FireFox completely, and run the installer for the version you just downloaded.

It opens a new link to another ad site, so yes. A spam page. I run Firefox in safe mode and it doesnt open a new tab but it goes to the spam page. I can't even upload it to imagevenue, since when i try that, it says the internet doesnt fucking work. Just like I was getting when trying to go to the old forums.

I've already uninstalled and re-installed firefox and IE but they are not the problem. Adaware finds nothing, neither does Spy Sweeper, which I had to go to since that fucking trojan fucked up Norton.

I have a 3 year warranty on this machine, I'm thinking about hauling it into Bestbuy today and seeing if they will do a system restore on it or what ever they can do. I can't fucking take this shit much longer.

I was using IE when I had that problem but it was just the spam pages non of that other shit. What would happen with me was that I would do just a normal search the links would pop up like normal but when I would click on them they would take me to an ad site. If I kept clicking on the same link after about the third time it would actually take me to the site the link was originally suppose to go to.

I dont know if that is whats happening to you but I dont really remember how I fixed it. I ended up reformating not long after that because I installed new parts but before you take it in I would try AVG if you are able to dl stuff. If that doesnt work then I would reformat or if you dont want to lose stuff I would just take it to BB since it is on warranty.

Check what is starting up with your PC using a program like ccleaner (freeware) (http://www.ccleaner.com/) and make sure no extra bullshit is starting up... Google unknown entries. Stop using adaware/spysweeper/Norton, and try to use spyware terminator (freeware) (http://www.spywareterminator.com/) and NOD32 (you can find it through isohunt or piratebay).

Also, I would recommend reformatting yourself, since a lot less bullshit will be installed; just the OS and whatever you install from that point on.

AH! DjAG YOU ARE THE BOMB! That CCleaner helped a bunch. the spyware program you suggested would not work until after I CC.

Thanks so much, hopefully this will help. I still can't get to some sites by typing them in and the ad sites still appear when I click on search links

I'm pretty sure that's a standard thing with long strings of text and forms. You can always change the font size in the post. Unless the your posts are wrapping like that, you can increase your screen's resolution or zoom the page out, View > Zoom > Zoom Out. Let me know if this helps.

Independent post:

I found this on another forum and found it to be helpful. Fair warning: If you don't understand what these settings are doing, don't do them. You are too stupid to be trusted not to fuck something up. I did not write this guide, I am just bringing up information that may be helpful. Take it for whatever it's worth. Oh, and if this or something similar has been posted elsewhere: My bad, delete away.

"How to Double Firefox Speed"

Firefox is in my opinion the best browser ever made until now. It includes:
-improved tabbed browsing
-pop up blocking
-integrated Goggle search
-enhanced privacy controls
-built-in phishing protection
-online spell checking
-lots of themes, interfaces, and extensions/addons

Mozilla Firefox officially supports:
-Microsoft Windows
-Linux
-Mac OS X

Unofficial Support:
-Free BSD
-OS/2
-Solaris
-SkyOS
-BeOS
-XP Professional x64 Edition

Now here are some Tips&Tricks that can help you double the speed of Firefox.

1. Type about:config (http://about%3cb%3e%3c/b%3E:config) in the address bar and then press Enter.

2. In the filter search bar type network.http.pipelining. Be sure the value field is set true,if not double-click to set true. HTTP is the application-layer protocol that most web pages are transferred with. In HTTP 1.1, multiple requests can be sent before any responses are received. This is known as pipelining. Pipelining reduces page loading times, but not all servers support it.

3. Go back to the filter search bar and type network.http.pipelining.maxrequests. Double-click this option and set its value to 8.

4. In the filter search bar and type network.http.proxy.pipelining. Once opened doubleclick on it and set it to true.

5. In IPv6-capable DNS servers, an IPv4 address may be returned when an IPv6 address is requested. It is possible for Mozilla to recover from this misinformation, but a significant delay is introduced.
Type network.dns.disableIPv6 in the filter search bar and set this option to true by double clicking on it.

6. CONTENT INTERRUPT PARSING
This preference controls if the application will interrupt parsing a page to respond to UI events. It does not exist by default. Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config (http://about%3cb%3e%3c/b%3E:config) window, select New and then Boolean from the pop-up menu. Then:
A. Enter content.interrupt.parsing in the New boolean value pop-up window and click OK
B. When prompted to choose the value for the new boolean, select true and click OK.

7. Rather than wait until a page has completely downloaded to display it to the user, Mozilla applications will regularly render what has been received to that point. This option controls the maximum amount of time the application will be unresponsive while rendering pages. Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config (http://about%3cb%3e%3c/b%3E:config) window, select New and then Integer from the pop-up menu.
A. Enter content.max.tokenizing.time in the New integer value pop-up window and click OK
B. You will be prompted to enter a value. Enter 2250000 and click OK.

8. CONTENT NOTIFY INTERVAL
This option sets the minimum amount of time to wait between reflows. Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config (http://about%3cb%3e%3c/b%3E:config) window, select New and then Integer from the pop-up menu.
A. Type content.notify.interval in the New integer value pop-up window and click OK.
B. You will be prompted to enter a value. Enter 750000 and click OK.

9. CONTENT NOTIFY ONTIMER
A. This option sets if to reflow pages at an interval any higher than that specified by content.notify.interval. Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config (http://about%3cb%3e%3c/b%3E:config) window and select New and then Boolean from the pop-up menu.
B. Type content.notify.ontimer in the New boolean value pop-up window and click OK.
C. You will be prompted to choose the value for the new boolean. Select true and click OK.

10. Notify Backoffcount
This option controls the maximum number of times the content will do timer-based reflows. After this number has been reached, the page will only reflow once it is finished downloading. Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config (http://about%3cb%3e%3c/b%3E:config) window and select New and then Integer from the pop-up menu.
A. Enter content.notify.backoffcount in the New integer value pop-up window and click OK.
B. You will be prompted to enter a value. Enter 5 and click OK.

11. CONTENT SWITCH THRESHOLD
You can interact with a loading page when content.interrupt.parsing is set to true. When a page is loading, the application has two modes: a high frequency interrupt mode and a low frequency interrupt mode. The first one interrupts the parser more frequently to allow for greater UI responsiveness during page load.
The low frequency interrupt mode interrupts the parser less frequently to allow for quicker page load. The application enters high frequency interrupt mode when you move the mouse or type on the keyboard and switch back to low frequency mode when you had no activity for a certain amount of time. This preference controls that amount of time. Right-click (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config (http://about%3cb%3e%3c/b%3E:config) window and select New and then Integer from the pop-up menu.
A. Enter content.switch.threshold in the New integer value pop-up window and click OK.
B. You will be prompted to enter a value. Enter 750000 and click OK.

12. NGLAYOUT INITIALPAINT DELAY
Mozilla applications render web pages incrementally, they display what’s been received
of a page before the entire page has been downloaded. Since the start of a web page
normally doesn’t have much useful information to display, Mozilla applications will wait
a short interval before first rendering a page. This preference controls that interval. Rightclick (Apple users ctrl-click) anywhere in the about:config (http://about%3cb%3e%3c/b%3E:config) window and select New and then Integer from the pop-up menu.
A. Enter nglayout.initialpaint.delay in the New integer value pop-up window and click OK.
B. You will be prompted to enter a value. Enter 0 and click OK.

So a while back I installed the AIO Links Checker as per this post: http://forum.gorillamask.net/showthread.php?t=1829

I believe it was version 1.5 at the time. It worked perfectly. It's been bugging me and bugging me to update to the new version 1.6. I went to the site, hit install, and it said it was installed successfully. Well now when I get to a page, it just says "checking link 0/0" and never budges. I tried uninstalling 1.5 and installing 1.6, but that didn't help at all. Anyone else having problems with the new version or am I doing something wrong? Anyone have a link for 1.5 that I can just go back to?

In firefox you can just go to tools --> Options --> content --> languages. From there you can add/modify/remove different languages. This will allow them to display correctly in a web page.

But yes in order to render them correctly you must have them installed on your machine

The autoscroll on Firefox drives me nuts. I'll be visiting a page with lots of images, say...Post an Asian, and I'll scroll up to start at the top. When the page finishes loading it automatically scrolls back down to the bottom.

When you go into firefox , go to "tools" , then "options" then "advanced" and click on network. check to make sure it is connecting properly via your internet source...

Also check that next tap over which is update , check the history and see which one you got in there.. My last was a security update on 12/16/08 so your last should be around that point... Im thinking the main prob is your proxy settings or the way FF connects got messed.

When I was looking at the analytics for my band's website I can across one visiter from this url:
w*******.***.net

This is the only time I've ever seen a url blocked out like this. Any ideas on what the url is?

When Google says their motto is 'Don't be Evil' its makes me laugh. I don't know how they can collect that much data on people without making it clear to them that they are and still act like they are walking the line of sainthood.

for some reason, the google search on firefox is fucked up for me.

whenever i search on the google toolbar (or even the standard google web site), it's fine. if i click a link from the google search, the page will try to load and just end up blank.

anyone know what the problem is? i have firefox 3.0.7, so, i think it might have to do with the new updates.

So I've started using Chrome this week. I've been using Firefox for the past year or so. One problem, I can't get any YouTube videos to work on Chrome. I always get a message saying, 'An error has occured, please try again later'.

Solutions?

It's nice, has some good features but feels sluggish and slow. Although, I've only used it on an old ass IBM T40 laptop, so it may just be this laptop is slow. Also, how could you hate the new Office? It's way better than Office 2003.

The new office is all cartooney and gay. I miss my old drop-down menues. I dont want a picture of a printer, just give me a menu option that says, "print".

What happens with my Firefox? can anyone answer my question? when I click on links they don't do anything half the time. I have to click over and over to get them to work.
What should I do? This is making using the Internet very difficult!

I use Chrome right now,but if anyone has an idea on such add-ons compatible to Google Chrome, please let me know, just like IE and Firefox.

Thanks!
